EnySpree if Randolph had a great feel for the game like a Boozer than I take a chance. He doesnt and I have been hi biggest detractor and will continue to do so. I will be surprised if he goes lottery

What do you mean by "feel for the game"? Are you talking about instincts, drive, love/respect for the game, knowledge? All of the above? I'm just asking cuz its an annoying term to me. I hear it in baseball a lot. It just annoys the hell out of me.

Regardless of what, how do you come up with a determination like this unless you have inside knowledge or seriously followed LSU religiously. From his highlight tapes on the net he appears to have some unique skill. His slashing ability is what stands out the most. His moter seems fine and he shows determination in the way he knifes through the defense.

Would you trade Lee for a pick 12-8 to try and land him if you could????

I would, this team is going to be built to compete in 2-3 years, I guy like this could be very good but that time.

The problem here anji is the realistic probability that we are going to play up and down. We have no impact players and will be even worse on the D. I can see Dantoni if he was hired by the Bulls because they have soem uptempo players and length. We have a team full of streak shooters who dont play defense with no inside presence on the D. The whole team is fcked up--so honestly when trying to figure out what to do--it isnt easy because they believe one PG will do the trick. If they want an established player trade up to 4 and take Love because love is better than any knick frontcourt player. But you see that wont happen because we are going to fill the team up with 6-3 guys.

As I've said before, Beasley is the most impressive college freshman prospect in several years. Love is way too good of a player overall to bust (there are some areas where he might struggle, but he'll be an outstanding player on offense). Anthony Randolph is a major projection- without the NBA body to earn playing time early he will likely bust.

Randolph may work out, but he's a gamble. He may not be able to put on weight. He may not improve his jump shot. His upside isn't that high. He's not going to be a huge scorer or rebounder. He will be a decent defender at the 3. At best, Randolph may reach the point where he turns out to give decent value as a lottery pick. At worst, he's a career backup. He definitely shouldn't be our pick.

Well I hope that isn't the case. Seems to me if they are talking about guys like Westbrook their plan would be about the future or2-3 years from now. He isn't a point guard that is going to led this team to the playoffs next year and is a project.

They should take the best the talent, but I would hope that if they drafted a guy like Westbrook it is because they want to get another player that fits Mike D's system and let them grow, not to make a playoff run.

Greg Anthony had very high praise for Randolph. Everyone knows Randolph is going to take time to develop---it's not about year 1 it's about end product and the names he was throwing around were big names. I still say he is a perfect player for this type of system--unique and someone we should pursue--if that means trade down to get 10+21 at this point--I would do it--maybe the Nets want Eric Gordon for picks 10+21+40

One problem with this system is that it fails to take into account the level of experience of the player and adjust the numbers down for older playrs. For example, Sweetney graduated after four years at Georgetown, while Bosch went into the nba after only one year of college.

Another problem with Hollinger's system, unless I missed something, is that it fails to take into account the level of competition that a player's team faced. For example, Jason Thompson's numbers can be considered suspect, because Rider doesn't play the same level of competition that UCLA or Arizona or USC plays.

If it's that versus picking Westbrook at 6 I say do it, if they know he will slide that far then they should. You an extra pick out of this deal and get a guy with potential. Randolph & Koufos/Ibaka is a great draft IMO.
