knicks won't take a project, i'm almost 100% positive they won't.

westbrook or bayless will be the pick...

i'm getting the feeling that Walsh is trading up to get Mayo

I'd be ecstatic if thats our course. If not, give me Westbrook.

I dont know, I watched a lot of UCLA down here in So Cal and Westbrook reall didnt jump out at me. He's alright, but at #6? Eh. Ive 'gots' my reservations.

damn man, you are in SoCal? Lucky you.

No doubt, SDSU representative. Moving down here changed my life, b! The quality of life is unreal in these parts.

I don't think anyone would cry if Westbrook is the pick but I cant believe that we are moving to an uptempo game and we are discounting Anythony Randolph. I accept that it will take him some time to grow into his body but how can they look past this mans size and skills? They are projecting a player without seeing the end result--but many of the game's top tier players were drafted this way. If I dont get Mayo I would be willing to take the best of Lopez Love or Randolph just because we have so many holes and unknowns with Curry and Randolph and it is MUCH easier finding a good small player than trying to find a good big player. The Bucks found Sessions at 35 who looks like he is a better PG than anyone in this draft other than Rose and Mayo.

Does Westbrook remind anyone else of a smaller, quicker Shane Battier? They're both smart players who play the game hard. They both play good defense. They're both team oriented. They both give you some scoring but aren't big time scorers.

briggs.. who said they are discounting him? Maybe they just like Westbrook more. I hope we take Alexander myself.

Joe Alexander is a safe pick. Look how much better Randolph is than Alexander in their comparable first years.
Randolph is the more skilled player the more talented player and if he does to his body what Joe did Randolph is going to be a much better player. How come Alexander only averaged 6 rebounds on a team void of good big men? And at 6-8 he is much more a 3 than 4 is outside shooting past 14 feet is poor. He is a solid solid mid raneg shooter with only decent handle. Why did Randolph average 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks. You'll get a good player but he has no chance to be a 20-10 player in this league and Randolph does.

SoCal's aight... lots more gang activity in LA vs. back home in NY & peeps trying to act all hard like they thugs even in the non-ghetto areas... just can't get used to this whole WESSS-SIIIDE mentality they got going out here.

The good news with Randolph.. and this may be smoke.. if Sacramento doesn't take him.. he's gonna slide. They are reportedly enamored with Arthur. If that is the case.. and we trade down.. he could certainly be the target. If we could come out of this TJ Ford and Randolph.. not bad.

I would feel a lot better about taking Westbrook if we got another 1st and drafted Alexander. My draft list is starting to shape up like this:

1-Mayo
2-Alexander-Don't ask me why. This kid is just starting to grow on me the more I read about him.
3-Love
4-Westbrook-But only with Alexander or Love.
5-Randolph

too much risk with tj ford--one whack and he is done. You could seem him play passively. Too much risk.

I actually live in San Diego. Yeah, LA is overrated and there are some pockets of the city that are damn near Unlivable. I'm still NY at heart, but So Cal has treated a playa wonderfully.

Westbrook got the opportunity to play the point for 7 games at the beginning of the year when Collison was hurt. Heres a look at some of his numbers:

10pts 5ast 6to's 2stl's

9pts 9ast 3to's 2stl's

14pts 6ast 2to's 1stl

13pts 7ast 3to's 1stl (vs. Maryland)

13pts 3ast 1to's 2stl's (vs. Mich st.)

15pts 6ast 3to's 2stl's

19pts 8ast 2to's 2stl's (Collisons first game back and played about 25mins)

Westbrook strikes me as player who can really stuff a stat sheet. He'll average about 2 stls per, grab about 4-5 rbs, dish out about 6-7 assist. Another interesting fact about Westbrook is he was a 5'10 pg in highschool and was actually recruited to UCLA as a back-up point. He had a growth spurt once he reached college and becuase of his defensive abilities and new height, they put him in the backcourt with Collinson.
