Which he would and he can't be dealt at next yr's draft because he'll be a RFA not in case he get's an extension done this coming October.

Well thats the only trade that really works cap wise... not saying it's going to happen, just thats really the only one that works since you're definitely not going to get Billups or Hamilton instead of Prince.

IMO, Prince has the most value out of anyone on that team.

People might feel this is a sell low with Lee but we get pick 24 and 32. Lee himself was a 30th pick, plus we get instant cap relief after the season is over with Gooden and Griffin or Marshall's Expiring's. Personally I'd rather have Griffin to get a TE out of the deal.

These are pretty good trade Ideas. Reports had the Bulls showing mild interest in Zach about a year ago when Portland shopped him. I'm sure some of if not most of the interest has disapated. But looking at these trades, no one is giving up much for Zach.

I said it before and I'll say it again, GM's don't worry about how a player is perceived on his current team, they look at how he fits into their scheme. That's why Billups, Rasheed and Rip are on the Pistons. You could make a case against Billups and Rasheed, Rip less so but these weren't guys with great reps coming into Detroit.

They took these guys in and molded them. It's not out of the realm of reality to think Dumars would be interested in Zach. The guy can play and they have enough leaders on that team to keep him in line. Every situation is different. We had no leaders and neither did Portland for a while. In Detroit he'd likely conform and do well. Winning teams have that effect on guys sometimes.

Its a possibility. I dont think other GM's share the same resentment for Zach that NY does. We have a tendency to wildly swing from overvaluing, to undervaluing...thats not to say that GM's are tripping over themselves to bail us out of our mistake.

Make no mistake about, it Dumars is desperate. The Pistons are a sinking ship and if he feels he can inject the team with a low post stud, in a buy low situation he may try to exploit.

Dumars has been a fine GM, but dont put anything past a guy who passed up on Wade, Melo, and Bosh for some Euro scrub.

I agree with your whole post, everything including Dumars being desperate, all that.

The only thing I will say is, who are the Pistons going to trade? To really make any trade work they would have to give up atleast one of the following Billups, Prince, Sheed, Rip. I just can't see any of those guys in a trade for Zach. I'll hope and cross fingers that Dumars would make a mistake like that, I'd love anyone of those guys.

Not to completely piggyback on others' suggestions, but Sheed for Randolph really works. From a salary and P.R angle, Dumars can sell the deal as ridding the team of a declining player and adding a younger piece.

Lets not kid ourselves, Zach can ball. His game just isnt that flexible, and obviously he's a head case. In many respects, Randolph will be similar to the reclamation project Sheed was a few years ago. Just surround him by proven winners and *presto* ...or at least thats what the Detroit team ball manual probably says.
