damn TMS. You knew I was going to say Charlie Ward so you beat me to the punch on purpose. YOu are so vindictive. But I agree, Charlie was one of the warriors that remained after the Ewing era. I'd have to put him and KT in that class.

As far as the current crop. I don't see any warriors on this team. I think Lee and Balkman play hard, but neither has earned a warrior title yet. Gotta play defense and pound people to get that title.

Childs and Ward. What I would give to have them again instead of Dinglebury. sigh.

Sorry man but childs sucked also. He was a punk. I remember one year they picked him to start but he said he rather come off the bench. That is NOT a warrior. One of Grunfeld biggest mistakes.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Itsnt it funny how Marbs used to openly trash those two saying the Knicks would never win with point guards like them?

Ward seems to get more respect but Child as a Knick was steady and cold blooded. He gave up his starting spot for the good of the team. He clearly and openly was upset about it but gave it up. He always winded up being on the floor in crunch time anyway.

Ewing, Chids, Ward, Houston, LJ, Spree, Mason, Oakley, Starks, Camby (When he was healthy). I really wanna say Dudley, but man, he just flat out suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked even though he'd play tough. Can't forget Derek Harper and I looooved some of those clutch shots Hubert Davis made.

All of those guys were Warriors, but Ewing is supreme.

There are alot of guys who haven't been mentioned. Xavier McDaniel, Mark Jackson, Doc Rivers, Gangsta Greg Anthony, Anthony Mason, Anthony Bonner, Terry Cummings. I will never forget when X said that you could put him in a locked room with the entire Bulls team and that he would be the only to walk out.

Then X would proceed to shoot 15 foot fadeaways jumpers rather than taking the ball to the rack. I was very dissapointed in X-Man on the Knicks but he falls into a long line of dissapointments starting with McAdoo, Hayward, Truck, Webster, Vandewheghe, Cheeks, Blackman and on and on.

KT i guess fits the bill... & what about Buck Williams? he was another 1 of those silent tough warriors, even though his Knicks career was short lived.

Buck without a doubt. Even in his older days he would battle. He was like PJ Brown. Can't run, can't jump, too old to play, but when the games on the line by a force of will, he always made the play. . I miss guys like that.

Just look at our current crop. Everytime the chips are down they fall apart and quit. Fans never should have allowed that during the LB year. It's ingrained in our blood now. D'antoni will have to do a voodoo job to rid of us of it.

cutting off the 2 most poisonous presences on the roster would be a good start.

Childs wasn't upset about giving up the starting job and he didn't do it for the good of the team. He was a puzzy and couldn't take the pressure. If we had a good point guard back then, aka tim hardaway we would have won a championship. childs was a punk.

so in order to qualify as a warrior u need to be able to kick some butt & never be bodyslammed by a dude twice your size?

we're talking about guys who play w/heart here dude... not about guys who bodyslam dudes on the court.

Interesting...Time to bust out the truth, it never lies.

Ward put up career numbers of 6.3 PPG, 4.0 APG, and 2.6 RPG.

Those numbers to me, prove that Ward was far from a warrior. I don't care how hard the dude played. As a kid, I saw Charlie Ward play, and he resembled to me far different than what we're discussing in this thread.

He was just another Knick PG, it really is that simple.

right, we're not talking about how great your stats are, just in how hard the dude played... u speak as if we're making him out to be some Knick legend.

Just because a player plays hard, it doesn't make him a warrior. Just about every player in the NBA plays hard with the exception of the Knick roster in its entirety.

And I'd disagree with you. But that's why it's called an opinion. No need to insult all of UK.com just because you disagree with something. Man, what is wrong with people?

that's why the statement that we have no warriors on this team applies.
