This is the perfect example how you build around a franchise player. They might as well cancel the finals for lack of excitement from the east.

Spree should have no problem playing into this system

You're half right Knixphan...we all want to see the Knicks get younger. Only one tiny problem, they young talent has to be good.

Forgive me if I dont fall out of my chair over the fact that Frank W is lighting up 35 y/o 5'7 USBL scrubs...Sweetney is the next Othella, a decent role player at best, he has no vertical (Dude couldnt jump over a DVD player) and he is undersized without an athletic bone in his body (just the way the knicks like them)...The Knicks might have lucked up with Lampe, he has a gang of upside, time will tell.

I'm not buying the age difference argument concerning Van Horn's age in comparison to Spree. We have seen Van Horn for years, he is a soft, no heart, jump shooter...the Knick roster is already packed with those...What on earth makes people think he is going to do this huge 180 and become this big time player.

The only "upside" I can think of when it comes to Van Horn is wanting to go upside Layden's head.

THat's the thing...I don't expect KVH to do a giant change...but the fact is, nothing will happen until we get far enough under the cap to make a major free-agent signing. Until then, why not develop the young cats we get in the draft, and hopefully we'll be able to drop a prime-time guy in the middle of them...KVH and H20 are just killing time until we can do that. Doesn't matter really if it's Spree or KVG or Jalen Rose or whoever...just keeping the chair warm for...LeBron or TMac or whatever free star comes along next.

How does tthis idiotic trade affect the Knicks' cap situation?

Quoted from the NY Daily News:
The Knicks would also be adding a bigger contract to their bloated payroll. Sprewell has two years remaining on his contract that will pay him $26 million. Van Horn is scheduled to make $43million over the next three years.

Maybe Scott LayDown will make a trade for the Pillsbury Doughboy after he gets Scrawn Bradley...
Then his demented dream will become a reality: he will have succeeded in completely emasculating the New York Knicks.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I don't know Minny pullin out stops to please KG. He's gonna bounce away. With this team aligned, they'll get out of the first round and that's it!! KG is outta here after the season...
I think your wrong about this. KG is tried of losing and none of the really good teams will have any money next summer. I't going to be stay with Minny or go to the Utah, or the Clips.
