6 to 16 is miles apart. What is telling is how he said he could grow hair before kevin love would fall to 16. At 6 you can be in position for kevin love--there is a different tier of player that stops about 12-13 imho im sure that could be higher or lower but 6 is a different level player. Its not even a question.

Again with the miles apart BS. At least one of the players you'd consider at 6 is likely to go a hell of a lot closer to the 16th spot than the 6th but you think it's miles apart.

Still waiting for you to fill out your top 20 Briggs. Let's see which players are miles apart from who is likely to go at 6.

Its pretty simple 6 and 16 are miles upon miles away in this draft. I kind of suspect Mayo Gordon Love Bayless are not working 16. If you are unable to sniff a player you are miles apart. And I think he knows Joe Alexander isnt going to be hitting pick 16. He was realistic with his names Lopez Speights Jason Thompson guys who would not even be on the radar at 6.

It's highly unlikely that Mayo and Bayless are working 6. Lots of legitimate questions about Gordon and Love and at least one of them could also be unavailable at 6.

LMAO So you're using the sniff test, are ya? The sniff test tells you that the difference in talent is that great? The Philly GM said that picks 10-17 are pretty similar so this great difference has to be between 6 and 10. Pick out the middle 5 and bottom 5 of your top 15 and tell us about how they're miles apart.

Here's your list just in case you forgot:

MY Top 15 players in order
Derrick Rose
Michael Beasley
OJ Mayo
Javale Mcgee
Anthony Randolph

Jerryd Bayless
Russell Westbrook
Joe Alexander
Eric Gordon
Brook Lopez

Kevin Love
CDR
Kosta Kofous
Danilo Gallinari
DJ Augustine

I will tell you where the value is in the draft. There are mutliple 7 footers--odds say 2-3 of these guys will be very good players--to get a player like that in the 15-30 region is a huge value pick up because some of these guys--

I dont know where they are going to go but I think both Mcgee and Randolph are going to be the steals of the draft. If they stayed in school you are looking at future top 3 5 top picks that will be had this year at significant value

Do you think Love can be a better NBA player than McGee or Randolph? If so, and I assume you do since you named Love along with Mayo, Bayless and Gordon as players who could be taken at 6, why are they "miles apart" on your list?

Great and that's not the point. The point is that the talent level between picks 6 and 16 aren't "miles apart" as you put it. There's a difference of course but it's not that drastic in this draft. Certainly not enough to completely dismiss the rumored trade with the Sixers and a chance to get out from under Zach Randolph's contract and presence.

I don't think you can get any lower then having to use the #6 lottery pick and move 10spots down in order to unload Randolph. If thats the case then its just not there for us to trade him.

(in no order)Rose, Beasley, Mayo, Lopez or Randolph, Bayless & Love will most likely fill out the top 6 picks.

(in no order)Lopez or Randolph, Gordan, Westbrook, Alexander, Gallinari, Aurther, Mcgee will most likley fill out the top 13 picks & the lottery.

(in no order)Jordan, Budinger, Augistine, Batum, Greene, CDR, Speights, Lawson, Thompson, Hibbert, Koufous will fill out 13-23 with a strong possibility of Brandon Rush & Mario Chambers in Jordan & Speights out.

If Beasley falls to #3 then Minny will most likley trade down in order to take Lopez or Love, that could be our chance to move up and grab Beasley since Love or Lopez will be around the #6 range.

Love could be very very attractive to many teams at #6. The worst case is that Memphis takes Love at 5 and leaves us Lopez. I don't know how any teams view Lopez.

Briggs original idea of Randolph & Mcgee seems like the best route to go. We could use Loves appeal & hype to trade down 3 spots like around 9 with the Bobcats. Mcgee would be a huge candidate for them at #9 to compliment Okafor to. Rights to Love or Lopez & Malik Rose for #9 & Adam Morrison. We could take Randolph at #9 and then target Mcgee by going after Kings pick at #12. We offer Marbury's expiring deal & Balkman for Kenny Thomas, Rahim, Miki Moore & #12.

We would then buy out both Thomas, Rahim & James who all have 2yrs left on there contracts as does Miki Moore.
Curry/Moore/Mcgee
Randolph/Lee/A.Randolph
Chandler/Morrison/Jefferies
Richardson/Robinson/Collins
Crawford/Robinson

Curry for Mark Blount looks good here as well.

what him denying these rumors should tell us all is that Zach Randolph carries just about zero trade value & anyone who thinks there will be other deals available to us in the future to unload his contract w/o taking back an equally bad one in return or giving up 1 of our young assets is kidding themselves... we're pretty much stuck w/Zach at this point, which sucks on just about every level imaginable.

I don't think this way. I knew from the beginning that Philly would never do that rumored trade. Zach doesn't fit with that team at all, They'd be better with evans. I don't think them saying no means Zach value is lower.

This is how it goes. Mayo, Bayless, Love, Alexander, Randolph and Wesbrook are not falling to slot 16. However, most of them will definitely be available at 6 and to me, they are much better than CDR, Speights, McGee and all of them. They are in the top 10, b/c they are flat out better players than those who will be available at 6. We have to draft the one who's closest to being superstar material. We can't go in this draft saying "OK, it's time to get some serviceable players." That's pretty much how Isiah Thomas handled the draft.

I've said that same thing maybe 30 or 40 times. We've given up so many lottery picks in the past few years that our franchise has been crippled from it, and then for the 2 times we actually had a lotto pick, we made horrible decisions. Actually, I don't think picking Sweetney was bad. He just decided to never get in shape. His fault, not ours. Both of those picks didn't work though.

We need to draft a superstar somewhere though. We can't go for whoever can be decent for us now. Who cares how he is now, because we suck right now anyway. We need to build a championship contender. The way you do that is by getting superstars OR having A LOT of VERY GOOD players, like the Pistons. AFTER that, you go for the servicible players to build around your superstar.

The draft is he cheapest way you can get a superstar. Our best shot is going as high as possible. And don't know if Love or AR or Joe Alexander will be superstars, but I bet they have a higher chance of being so than CDR and Speights, that's fo' sho'.

As if we needed any other incentive to trade Zach Rand Off and to Purge the rest of the Scum on this roster A.S.A.P. take a look at this on paper. I hope Stefanski seriously considers making that offer or some other team for likes of the rumored deal.

That said, it is important to note that so much can happen between now and then. Over the course of two years, it is certainly possible that some of these names could sign extensions or choose not to exercise player options, etc. These names are by no means set in stone. Nonetheless, the sheer magnitude of exceptional players is astonishing.

So, let's break into a few categories. First up, let's start with the Stars whose contracts expire following the 2009-2010 season and will then become honest-to-goodness free agents:

Joe Johnson
Ray Allen
Manu Ginobili
Marcus Camby
Tracey McGrady
Shaquille O'Neal
Brad Miller
Stephen Jackson
Jermaine O'Neal
Mike Miller
Rip Hamilton

The next grouping is those Players that are signed thru 2011, but can opt out in 2010 if they so choose:
Amare Stoudamire (owed 17.7 million in 10/11)
LeBron James (owed 17.2 million in 10/11)
Dwayne Wade (owed 17.0 million in 10/11)
Chris Bosh (owed 17.1 million in 10/11)
Dirk Nowitzki (owed $21.5 million in 10/11)
Josh Howard (owed $11.8 million in 10/11)
Mike Redd (owed $18.3 million in 10/11)
Tyson Chandler (owed $12.8 million in 10/11)

This next list consists of Contracts that are set to expire in 2010, but the player may choose to opt-out following the 2008-2009 season:
Steve Nash (owed $13.1 million in 09-10)
Carlos Boozer (owed $12.7 million in 09-10)
Chris Paul (owed $6 million in 09-10 / almost certain to sign an extension before becoming unrestricted)
Memo Okur (owed $9.0 million in 09-10)
Hedo Turkoglu (owed $7.4 million in 09-10)

In addition to the superstars listed above, these 'Second-tier' players are set to hit the open market as well:
Ben Wallace
Larry Hughes
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (option to opt-out after 09/10 season)
Anderson Varejao (option to opt-out after 09/10 season)
Al Harrington
Darko Milicic
Udonis Haslem
Jamal Crawford (option to opt-out after 09/10 season)
Eddy Curry (option to opt-out after 09/10 season)
Amir Johnson
Derek Fisher
Raja Bell
T.J. Ford (player option - owed $8.5 million in 10/11)
Travis Outlaw
Bruce Bowen
Earl Watson
Luke Ridnour
Matt Harpring
Quentin Richardson
Damien Wilkins

We also must include the list of Players that will actually eventually have value due solely to the fact their contracts come off the books in the summer of 2010:
Jerome James (proof that Isiah Thomas knew what he was doing all along!)
Cuttino Mobley
Brendan Haywood
Tim Thomas
Brian Cardinal
Antonio Davis
Mark Blount
Bobby Simmons
Troy Hudson
Darius Miles
Kenny Thomas
Shareef Abdul-Rahim
Matt Bonner
Etan Thomas

Last, but not least, we have the 2006 Draft Class. These Players will all be restricted free-agents in 2010, if they haven't already been inked to extensions:
Brandon Roy
Rudy Gay
LaMarcus Aldridge
Andrea Bargnani
Rajon Rondo
Tyrus Thomas
Kyle Lowry
Randy Foye
Marcus Williams
Josh Boone
Renaldo Balkman
Sergio Rodriguez
Ronnie Brewer

Agreed, if we use the pick, those are the players we should choose from.

But if you have a chance to get rid of Randolph for the paltry price of trading down 10 spots then you have to do it.
