I would do that in an instant and then approach the sixers and offer them zach, pick 11 for evans and pick 16, so we get rid of zach and have pick 6 and 16.. if the sixers don't like that deal.. again, I tell them to kick rocks!!

if u could swing that Zach & #11 for Evans & #16 i'd prefer that over the Philly deal too... pretty much similar plan of action as i posted above in this thread, only instead of the #11 & #16 we'd have the #6 & #16.

that would be a series of moves I could live with.. then you hope Jermain Oneal is healthy, draft one of the other bigs to play center with pick 16 and use pick 6 on BPA...

To add to this trade thread instead of starting another.

Jermaine ONeal seems to think he might be traded to Cleveland this summer.
The rumor is the same as always for Cleveland: Eric Snow and Wally to _______.

However, Indy is apparently thought to be willing to use the #11 pick to get rid of Oneal's contract.

While ONeal is certainly a bust at this point given a total lack of dependable health: He does expire in 2010. What about Marbury for ONeal and the #11?

Then ride either the Philly rumor or think about Zach to Cleveland for the Wally/Snow package?

Remember, I'm not suggesting these to improve us short term but to set us up for the future more than anything.

Keep our 6th, acquire the #11th while taking on ONeal for an extra year more than Marbury, acquire Wally/Snow expirings for Zach.

Even in the short term if those guys were healthy we wouldn't be in the worst position either.

Now that is a plan, because it doesn't affect 2010 at all. I would do that in an instant and then approach the sixers and offer them zach, pick 11 for evans and pick 16, so we get rid of zach and have pick 6 and 16.. if the sixers don't like that deal.. again, I tell them to kick rocks!!

That's a great turn around for the first trade into moving Zach. I still don't believe the Pacers want to move JO and there pick to only get back Marburys expiring. They probably would want Lee too, which is a deal I would do.

I would make the O'Neal trade to get the 11th pick, however, Zach is STILL the MAIN problem here. We cannot have that cancer on our team next season ESPECIALLY if we were to keep the 6th pick. You don't want him infecting our youngin's.

And so far nobody has come up with a player who will be available at 6 that can be a difference maker on our team.

Also I would much rather have Reggie Evans than David Lee. Lee is Mr.Softy on defense whereas Evans is a nasty player...which is what we really need. And I don't want to commit big money and a long term deal to Lee who is a one-dimentional big man. You cannot win in the NBA with those types playing big minutes.

hmmm so you take Indy's pick away, the better player, and give them a malcontent just for yr of salary relief when the same argument was that trading Zach to Philly, while giving them the better player, giving up our pick for yr of salary relief just isn't worth it. Especially approaching a cap yr where there aren't going to be any big time FA...http://www.realgm.com/src_contractoptions/2009/. Why wouldn't Indy hold onto O'Neal until his contract expires? Why wouldn't Indy align themselves to be players come 2010/2011 when the big time free agents are available?

Unrealistic trade scenarios IMO not to say I wouldn't attempt to offer them though.

to be honest JO could ride the pine for the rest of his remaining deal for all i care... getting rid of Zach's deal & keeping our lottery pick would be worth it for me... it wouldn't kill us in the next 2 years cuz we're capped out anyway, & we'd gain the flexibility to target Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Amare or Dirk when they all have opt outs.

now the only issue is convincing the Sixers that a #10 pick & Zach is worth taking on his salary & giving us back their #16.

Nate and Balk, yes, Chandler and Lee, no

I think it might be wise to wait till his value isn't at rock bottom anymore unless a reasonable offer comes along
