Zach had his best seasons under Mo.

It was a report about a month ago in the rags.

The Knicks are not dealing from a point of weakness. When IT was here all the gms knew he was under a lot of pressure to put up a winning product. But they all know DW and know that he wont deal like he has to , Dw will deal because he want to. # 1 business rule, dont make like your dealing from weakness, make like you have the strength, and I think we do have the strengths to deal Zach without throwing in the pick because we have a demand for him( from Cheeks)

This a nervous nellie

this would essentially be giving up pick 6+7 for nothing.

Look at our history of giving up the solid pick--we ALREADY would have a good team.

The bets thing to do is NOT panic trade and let Randolph's value increase with his play as his contract diminishes

It's a real scker play to do this deal you could be giving up an all star player for nothing.

Do NOT do this--let me warn any Knick management do NOT do this this is akin to giving the bulls two lottery picks fopr eddy curry---if you are GIVING up the lottery pick--you want a star back not reggie evans.

If Philly wants Zach--then give me evans straight up

As much as i hate to say this I agree with joe. Give them Zach and we get back Evens and the 16.Why are we so loose with that 6th pick??
because you have to give up A LOT to get another team to take back a cancer with a horrible contract.

[Edited by - bonn1997 on 06-05-2008 09:55 AM]

You are the same dude who thought IT trading all of those max contracts was a good idea--please step back away from the compouter and think about it for a second. We gave up the SHOT at having stars all over the roster by trading these picks--destroyed the team--giving up this pick and getting 16 in return just to get rid of Zach for a POSSIBLE chance at cap space in two years?

Actually I quoted from an article in the paper about a month back. I am on my phone so I can't paste the link but I'm sure if someone just uses that search function it is easil findable. I think it is titled Cheeks intersted in Zach or something to that effect.

There were reports of their desire to get a real power fwd. Cheeks was rumored to welcome and even endorse a Zach trade. This was just a few weeks back.

Salary or not......the Knicks should not have to give up Zach and #6 to get back #16 and Tea Bag. Zach for tea bag and #16 is completely fair.

This is the Knicks ticket to forget about the Zach trade. Philly on the other hand bolster a team that made the playoffs and had a major flaw and that was the #4 slot. Zach plugs right in with 20/10.

Lee with Tea bag on the bench would be the best case scenerio for the Knicks.

I feel if we need to trade the pick to better the future I could do 6, Zach, Balkman, Collins, in a 3 way with Philly and Cleveland to get both of their first round picks and Wally World

New York trades Zach, Balkman, Collins, and 6

New York Receives 16th(Philly) and 19th(Cleveland) picks of 2008 and Wally World

Cleveland trades Wally World and 19th

Cleveland receives Reggie Evans, Willie Green, Renaldo Balkman, Collins

Philly trades Reggie Evans, Willie Green, 16th pick

Philly receives Zach Randolph and the 6th pick

Draft CDR, Brandon Rush, Mario Chalmers, or IMO he'd be worth the reach Billy Walker. If Westbrook is still on the board then obviously snatch him up at 16.

Now brining the Pacers in the mix we could expand this deal and change where a couple players go

I think this works

New York trades Zach, Lee, Balkman, and 6

New York Receives 10th(Pacers) and 19th(Cleveland) picks of 2008 and Jermaine O'neal

Cleveland trades Wally World, Eric Snow, 19th pick, 2nd round 209 pick, plus cash considerations

Cleveland receives Reggie Evans, Willie Green, Renaldo Balkman, Tinsley, 16th pick(Sixers)

Philly trades Reggie Evans, Willie Green, Carney, 16th pick

Philly receives Zach Randolph, 6th pick, 2nd round 2009 pick(Cleveland)

Pacers trade Jermaine O'neal, 11th pick, Tinsley

Pacers receive Wally World, Eric Snow, 16th pick, Lee, Carney, cash considerations

Sixers are under the cap so they don't have to take back equal salary. They can actually take more because they have enough room.

Briggs we get 11th(possibly still Westbrook, Augustin, Arthur, Donte Green,) 19th(Possibly CDR, Brandon Rush, Billy Walker, Joel Alexander, Ty Lawson(stock is rising)) Jermaine O'neal(Cap space 2010-2011) keep in mind Lee and Balkman would be due paychecks by then. Jermaine if healthy helps accomplish our All-In playoffs now mode.

I'm not saying I'm for the trade, just proposing it's doable considering the usual suspects.

You can probably do those deals without our pick 6 going too.

Philly would have to be compensated giving what they're giving up Carney, 16th, 2 productive players on chump change deals. Yes we give Philly a good pick but we also give them a cancerous player with an albatross contract. The way I look at it Philly trades Carney, 16th, for number 6, if we think we can get a very productive player at number 11 what's the bid deal? There is no great separation between picks 6-15 with maybe 1 exception and there's even less going from 6-11. Then the other half of the trade is Zach, Lee, and Balk for O'neal and 11. Is it a little too much to give up? Well possibly, although I doubt it. We could ask the Pacers for their 41rst second round pick in this yrs draft, Balk is a throw in. We aren't getting O'neal for Zach straight up.

Hell F!ucking yeah I make this trade. Zach and the #6 for Evans and #16. HELL YEAH!!! Any day of the week SIGN ME UP!!! We get rid of the cancerous Randolph which unto itself is worth a #1 pick to us, AND we shed his ridiculous contract and only take back 5 million in 2010. Evans is a tough player, plays defense AND if we wanted to, we could trade him because he doesn't make much money. Teams LOVE those types of players. After the top 2 in this draft and maybe Mayo, everything is a crapshoot. We could get someone just as good with the 16th pick as we could with the 6th pick.

How the hell could anyone say no to this trade?!?!!? Absolutely ridiculous to say no!!! Even if Mayo was available at 6. Zach off our team and his contract is worth more than Mayo and Evans is a great fit for us.
