I realize that he's got a lot of potential, but I don't see him necessarily panning out in the NBA. He can't hit from deep and wasn't exactly a dominant scorer. With his size and skill set it seems like he's better off as a PF, not a SF. While I heard about his potential, no one at the sports bar I frequent was like "OMG YOU HAVE TO WATCH ANTHONY RANDOLPH!" Nor did I see anyone advocating him during this season.

Anyway, the last LSU forward that got a lot of internet hype was Tyrus Thomas and he at least had an impact in the NCAA. So can someone please explain why the Knicks should roll the dice with Anthony Randolph?

For me this debate, isn't a debate. Speights is a true four, that will gain weight and will be able to play some center. He is solid fundamentally, but his ceiling is limited. He doesn't have that fluidity you'd like picking #6.

Randolph will play the 3/4 and would fit a running offense well. His ball handling is freakish for a 6'11 guy and will be able to utilize it well in an uptempo style. He's a foundation piece that would be great to add to a stable locker-room. Will they gamble on greatness? He can be great.. but his personality is key here. If they are convinced he's gonna work and not get lost in NYC, I'd definitely pick him.

Westbrook is a very safe pick, and is a jump shot away from being very good. Barbosa is a good comp for him.. but he did very, very well in his first year getting PT. I'd be happy with the pick, as he's shown, from going from an low recruit to a first team PAC ten player. He's going to work and get better. His shooting mechanics are sound. I see him improving. How high is his upside? Can his frame put on muscle and retain the explosion?

Mayo, if he's there, is the no-brainer? I like his game, and would fit a point guard by committee style. He has a shot to be a NBA all star. He's all about winning, apparently. Very driven, great shape, shady recruiting isn't a concern for me. He can shoot it from deep and handle the point in spurts.

Thats pretty much the same opinion I have. I would take Randolph 1a and westbrook 1b unless mayo slipped down. we dont know who memphis will take[maybe randolph because he fits the bill there] but its a numbers game to me

we pick 6 and imho the draft runs to 1-3 and 4-6 not in order mayo bayless beasley randolph westbrook beasely--can someone come in there like lopez i agree with randolph people are comparing him to swift and thomas only because he playued at lsu--those guys could not dribble like a PG

maybe they were watching chris johnson

also i think IT wouldve offered randolph a deal at 6 if he didnt workout for anyone

Briggs Randolph cant guard a 4 and doesnt put a lot of effort on the defensive end. Do I really need my 6-11 4 man dribbling the ball all the time I will leave that to the guards. How many times does Amare break down people on the dribble? If you draft Randolph you should trade Lee on draft night because that move makes no sense.

What is Randolph's position? At the 4, he gets pushed around. I don't know if it's a given, with his thin frame that he'll be able to add much muscle. At the three, he has the quicks and the extra size, but he can't shoot that well.

Anthony Randolph flashes the potential to develop into the next Tim Thomas.
