Yo man if this dickhead really wants Love, let him take Zach Randolph! Same player! Except Zach has already averaged 20/10 and Love may never do that.
It's dumb kinda, but would you trade Zach to minnesota for Antoine Walker and Jaric? Positives? Walker can handle the rock and pass way above average for a power fwd. He still can still rebound and post up. Yeah I know he has terrible percentages but he did well for Miami and they won a title with him as a 3rd wheel....walker came up big for them when they needed him that title year also. Jaric is a sharp shooter that needs to be our back-up shooting guard cuz he isn't a real point guard for christsakes. I think this is a good idea, but you guys will flame me.
Edit: keep in mind who our coach is.

Any trade involving 'Toine Walker coming to the Knicks is a bad one. The dude's a clown
especially when we're giving up as respectable & classy an individual as Zach Randolph.
Sorry but I don't agree at all buddapaw. Sure he's a clown and I don't even think he can play anymore (def. not at a high level anyway) but it's his contract that intrigues me. Hoopshype says he's at about 9.3 mil. for next season then a team option for 2009/2010. That essential means he's an expiring contract. Definitely worth trading for if you're the Knicks. With all this talk about Seattle and Memphis dealing with each other -- I think the Knicks have to get involved in this mix -- we have Eddy Curry and pick #6 to offer either team. I said this the other day these are plausible trade scenarios:
(1) Curry/pick #6 to Minnesota for Antoine Walker and #3.
(2) three-team deal (Knicks/Memphis/Seattle):
-pick #6, Curry, Nate to Memphis (prefer no Nate but if it meant securing Bayless I'd do it)
-Mike Conley Jr., Hakim Warrick, Jason Collins (exp. contract) to Seattle
-pick #4, Earl Watson, Donyell Marshall (exp. contract) to the Knicks
--------------------
I love both of those scenarios for the Knicks. Bottom line is Minnesota, Seattle and Memphis could all use a legit center. Although Curry's been inconsistent so far in his career, he's still young, he's big, he can score the ball & his contract isn't way over the top like Zach Randolph's. In fact, I could see the GMs of Minnesota, Seattle and Memphis thinking that if Eddy returns to the 20 ppg plateau he was at only 2 seasons ago his contract would suddenly look pretty reasonable. Minnesota now supposedly showing early interest in Love helps us. If that's true (and Uptown I agree with you - why they would want Love when they already have Al Jefferson is weird, but whatever...) do my deal with the Knicks and then grab Love or something even better at #6. Love will still be there that's for sure. And regarding a Brook Lopez selection with a high lottery pick - you gotta ask yourself, would you rather take a major chance drafting Lopez that high with your pick or acquire Eddy Curry & #6 from the Knicks? I think Curry/#6 is better value imho. Odds are Lopez will have a decent NBA career but who knows if he'll have the standout career that warranted taking him 3rd of 4th in this draft. Taking Lopez 3rd or 4th could turn out being a huge mistake in a few years. Curry, on the other hand, as long as he's surrounded by other bigs that can cover his weaknesses (Al Jefferson, for one, can certainly do that) has proven that he can be a major contributor.
Package Eddy with pick #6 and anything else within reason to sweeten the deal to move up to either #3 or #4. Before Donnie looks into anything else this is what he should explore first. If we do this (move up and grab Bayless at either 3 or 4, shed Eddy's contract) we then turn our attention to acquiring additional picks in this draft to fill other areas of weakness (a David Lee package for a mid-first rounder, purchase a lower 1st/early 2nd rounder from a team that has an abundance of picks or no room for additional players on the active roster). Stick to this plan and we can rebuild this thing a lot quicker than people think.
