I agree...and I think any normal competent GM / President should have the same strategy...
Try to get another pick, while dumping one of our large contracts (Zach), and keep the #6 pick...
Maybe your throw in Marbury (expiring contract) or Balkman / Nate to make the deal sweeter...
This is why we need a GM in place, before the draft...I don't trust Walsh and D'antoni with trade scenarios...
But hey, at this point, anything is better than Isiah creating these trades...
we will need to trade D Lee or the pick to get rid of Zach's contract, there's just no getting around that... it doesn't make sense for us to trade D Lee to unload Zach because that means we'd have Jared Jefferies or Malik starting at PF for us.
another option is to trade down to get an extra pick & use 1 of them to unload Curry or Zach while holding onto D Lee... i think i would prefer that option the most... i wonder how desperate the Nets would be to give up the #10 & #21 for the #6? maybe we could trade the #21 to unload a bad contract & use the #10 ourselves if we could pull that off... if nothing else we'd have an extra pick to take a reach on a project & not have to give up Lee & still have a high enough pick at #10 to take 1 of the guys that people seem to like around here.
