well obviously no one was talking about DG cuz no one knew much about him, plus the fact that we didn't know what type of system we were gonna run or even what type of team we were gonna have next season... plus everyone was hoping against hope that we would somehow miraculously land a top 2 pick.

what's the big deal if people research YouTube clips to at least form an opinion on the kid that no one knows much about? unless you've seen the kid play you up close & personal that's all we can really go off of anyway... no one has made any definitive projections on this kid other than isles & BRIGGS as i see it... i fail to see how anyone can make a definitive commentary about the kid's defense based on YouTube clips that only really show him on the offensive end.

That write up on Gallinari was great fluff. Now he has a Sopranos tough guy tag on him.

Tom Chambers? That's a crazy comparison. Tom Chambers was a damn good player. He averaged 27pts per one year and was all-star game mvp once. He was an elite player in his day.

yeah..I was surprised to read that Tom CHambers comparison. Chambers was one of my favorite players growing up.

It suprises me that Tom Chambers isn't even in the conversation with the best players at his position. Dirk reminds me of him a lot and he is never mentioned. Tom wasn't a puss or finesse guy. He was damn good. Its a shame.

What player isn't 2 years away from really contributing? Besides Lee and Nate

At least with the comments of oscar and felix, we know they have at least had conversations about the kid already and have sent scouts out there to see him play. They know he's in the playoffs now, and Felix acknowledges the fact he might be biased since rooming with Soprano's father...."there's a connection but I dunno what donnies thinking is."

DJ.. didn't you say Bargs really didnt play as bad as his stats looked this year, or am I making that up?

If D'Antoni likes Gallinari and thinks he's going to be good, then he's going to tell Donnie that and that's going to be it. D'Antoni might be the best euro scout in the NBA so if he likes him, I got no problem with it.

One of the best dunks ever. He kept going up even when you thought he was at his peak. It was like an illusion.

Isles: that to me was the best dunk ever.. I mean did you see where his head was? it was level to the rim... I remember watching that game in my livingroom.. I was frozen, just frozen... I thought chambers did something that was impossible by a human. He jumped, got in the air, and then pressed the up button.. that was just sick.... LOL

LOL, yeah, I've always loved that dunk. It wasn't great in terms of an in game dunk, like Kevin Johnson over Hakeem or Starks over 3 Bulls, but it would have been a great dunk even in a dunk contest. I swear, at one point he was looking down into the basket.

For me, the best dunk is Vince Carter jumping over Frederick Weis. Carter is the best dunker of all time in my opinion. The dunks he had on Chris Mullin and Alonzo Mourning were just sick.

Dr J's rocking the cradle dunk over Michael Cooper was probably the 2nd best dunk. It was just so smooth.

Danilo Nachbar

They even have facial resemblance--same game size Boki actually looks a little more athletic.

Nachbar was also supposed to eb the next Peja and *NBA ready* because he played in the Euro final four

I just now noticed Ariza actually kicked the chit out of Jokafor on his dunk. Seriously Jokafor got Bruce Lee'd and Posterized all simultaneously.

that wasn't an especially deep draft that year anyway & yet Boki got taken 15th... i can point out a ton of guys from that draft that you & many other people were very high on that didn't turn out to be much... everyone's got reasons on why they might like a player but we're all just speculating til we see these kids play at the NBA level... this is the same debates that happen every year concerning certain players.

i can see some similarities tho in Boki & DG, & i get why you might have made that comparison... i'm sure Walsh will do his due diligence before he takes anyone... just gotta trust that he makes the right choice.

I mentioned this before for which I was humilated.........if Gallinari is being disgusted, why not draft the next guy on the list and sign Nachbar.

Wonder why we sent Isiah to scout the kid?

Isiah don't llke the Euros.

Donnie: "Isiah, how is it going?"

Isiah: "Ciao baby, Steph is right, this place is the joint! Lots of love, lots of love!!!"

Donnie: "What do you think of the kid?"

Isiah: "He's white and not from Chicago. I'd wouldn't trade him for my mother"

Donnie: "Mike says that...."

Isiah: "oh its like that now huh? Mike this mike that......."

Donnie: " uh, yeah its like that now, you got paid right?"

Isiah: " Yeah, right, sure, uh, mike likes him? Wants to draft him?"

Donnie: "played with his father, was roomates with his dad, he likes him!"

Isiah: " THen if MIKE likes him (Tee Hee) then he is the next Larry Bird. If he were black he'd be an average player."

Donnie: "still have not learned a thing in 20 years have you! (BIrd stole the ball, Bird stole the ball! There will be a game 7!!!!!)

Isiah: "still hurts even today. I was such a Sunt".

Donnie: "You still are, you still are!"

Isiah: " can I stay a few more days. They never heard of Popcorn over here"

Donnie: "stay as long as you want.........."

Isiah: "oh, yeah, Ok. Tell Jimmie I said (click) hi. Donnie? Donnie?"

BEEP BEEP BEEP

Isiah: "OK DONNIE, SO YOU LIKE THAT IDEA, GOOD THEN, HEY IM STAYING FOR A WHILE, SOME THINGS IM GONNA LOOK AT, YEAH, I'LL SEE YOU NEXT WEEK. RIGHT, YEAH, CIAO!"

MRS. ISIAH: "he hung up on you again baby?"

Isiah: "Look, a Ferrari!"

Mrs. Isiah : "lets go shopping!"

I think Vince's dunk defies those physical laws. How many human being have you seen do an in game dunk over a 7ft human being? Actually Vince's dunk on Zo emulated the same air effect, when Vince met Zo at the rim he went up in the air some more after he saw where Zo positioned his hand/arm for the block.

I and I forgot a couple others

Ricky Davis on Nash LOL @ Nash (OH CHIT OH CHIT!!!)

Ranaldo Balkman on Devin Harris

Amare on Brand(I can't see these at work but I think this is the one that made Marbury go bitter bear face after he did it)

Amare on Josh Smith

We're merely discussing the merits of a possible draft pick. No one has gone crazy over Gallinari, just making observations about his skills and possible fit on the Knicks and place in the NBA. There are so many possible choices for the pick and it's proper to give an opinion on DG even if all we've got is some clips.

It all depends on what other moves Waltoni have in mind. They could take this kid knowing that they will fill the guard spot somewhere else. A great passing high BB IQ big may fit right into D'Antoni's plans for all we know. ANother thing that always bothers me is this idea that you have to have blazing speed to be successful. Bird wasn't fast and neither is Paul Pierce. it's about change of pace and timing. You have to have skills and an understanding of the game that allows you to be successful no matter how athletic your competition is. DG may be a guy that is good enough not to be bothered by a slight lack of ultimate athletic ability. He seems to have plenty of skill to me and the comp he's playing against is IMO a step above the avg. college level.
DJ, don't spaz out: "He's [Gallinari] better than [Andreas] Bargnani, no question."
