i thought u were talking about McGee here... those 2 kids got some serious hops but what else can they do? are they good fundamentally? can they shoot the rock? do they play good D? good passers? make good cuts to the hole & can shoot off screens? what's up? if there's 1 thing this team doesn't need is yet another explosive dunker w/little other real basketball skills (& i'm not saying that's what these kids are, just saying we need to get a lot more out of that pick than just another athletic kid w/nice dunks)

If you read my post--I said Id like to move Lee for a high picka dn see if we can buy another later round pick in round 1 to swipe 3 new players. This team needs to be rebuilt and we need players that can play 2 ways up and down the floor at a fast pace with versatile skills. Yes I would take Mcgee as my intial pick

If I amy ask BRIGGS, why would we get rid of Lee to get another low draftee? Don't you think Lee can fit into D'Antoni's style? He's a pretty good finisher and disher.

I would only trade him for a top 8-9 pick.

For example

Mcgee or Randolph pick 6
Westbrook pick 8-10
Giddens pick 20-25

Exactly. Hey TMS, what do you' think about Westbrook? He's got some good hands and positions himself very well. Seems like a pretty good defensive player. His TOs at 2.5 wasn't too bad either. He's greatly improved his FT% also.

I like the way the guy moves.

from what i've seen he looks like he's got sick explosion & nice hops... dunno much more about him other than that... all i know is i wanna get some kids who know how to play team oriented style of basketball... if these kids fit the bill i'm all for trading an asset to get another pick & land 1 of em... but i don't think we should be targetting exclusively 1 type of player... this team needs so many things to improve our core that we should be looking at players that complement 1 another just as much as we look at their individual talent.

Westbrook=best defensive guard in draft.

what about the option of signing Chris Duhon to a portion of the MLE if we can't land an extra pick & pick up a good defensive G that can play point?

Another point is if Dantoni even wants a 7 foot player--he may not. Im just hoping they take a serious look at him. I think he has tremendous potential for a 7 footer. If there is a safe pick at 6 it's Westbrook. He can play 2 ways and both guard positions. I think you need a 7 footer to win big but Im not making the call. What I outlined were two frontcourt players and two backcourt players who get up and down with versatile offensive skills athletic ability explosion WITH very solid defensive skills. Westbrook whipped OJ mayo hard in the game that was on ABC this year pretty darn hard--he suffocated Mayo

You think Westbrook might be a mini Bowen? He's a disruptive defender from the guard position with excellent speed and salhing ability--he literally can float to the hole at will.


I mean I think this is an excellent plan for a solid partial rebuild this year

Pick 6 either Mcgee or Randolph--whateven player they feel is right for them--take the one they prefer.

Trade David Lee for Russell Westbrook---saves paying Lee

Buy a pick late in the first round for Giddens

I only watched him play half of one game--but that was all I needed to see.

That's great. Good to know you are not making the real decisions on the draft.

Javale McGee is not a lottery pick. He has many flaws and is a project. If you want to get another pick and draft him fine but at #6? No.
