interesting trade. i would have to think about it. i remember sessions' last couple of games being amazing, but i'd never even heard of him before that.

Nice find with Ramon Sessions Briggs.

The kid started in the final 7 games and averaged 13pts, 5.5rebs, 13assist. His last 2 games he put up 20pts 24assist & 25pts 14assist. He is also 6'3.

NBADRAFT.NET
NBA Comparison: Jarrett Jack
Strengths: A true floor general with a great size and speed combination … A solid athlete who is able to use his size well to defend and pass over smaller opponents … His vision and ball handling ability are both excellent … Does a solid job of setting up teammates for baskets … Understands the position well and plays to his strengths … Heady. Never seems to rush things or try to do too much … Has a great attitude and continues to improve … Improved considerably shooting and scoring in his junior season, and should look to improve upon that production in his senior year … Showed the ability to step up and carry the team in big games, against Gonzaga for instance when Fazekas fouled out, the team rallied around Sessions for a big victory …

Weaknesses: As a freshman and sophomore he rarely shot and struggled to put points up. He lacked the confidence and assertiveness to be much of a factor offensively but ran the show and has steadily improved in that area … He still must improve his consistency and shooting from the perimeter … Though his numbers were solid, he didn’t press the action mush scoring wise, some of which may have had to do with All America post Nick Fazekas’ presence inside … Playing at Nevada, there are still some question about his ability to play against top level competition … Very solid in all areas but doesn’t stand out considerably in any area: very steady though unspectacular … Still prone to streakiness shooting, as his three two point games at the end of the year can attest … Not a tremendous defender, should gather more steals considering his quickness ...

If Charlie V was a better rebounder I would like him more as a player. He should be a guy that gets 10-12rebs per game. There is no reason why he should put up the same stat line as Lamar Odom.

Didn't Mardy Collins put up similarly impressive numbers over a slightly longer span of games?

this ALL comes down to our pick. If we pick 5-7 then its back to the drawing board. If we get 1-2 then I say we accelerate the "rebuild" and plunder some of these team's talent with money deals.

I bet you could pluck Michael Redd, Charlie V and Gadzuric with expiring contracts. Guys like that would look pretty good running up and down the court with Rose or Beasley.

Anyway we will know tonight

i would caution those who overrate games by bench players in April on teams out of contention. those games don't mean jack. very rarely in april do lotto teams play competitive games, unless they are on the brink of the playoffs or playing teams on the brink of the playoffs. mardy collins did it last year, jamal looked like a genius in april of larry brown's year, wilson chandler did it this year. ramon sessions might be the real deal, but i bet he benefited from the fact that his games were meaningless and the other team was hardly trying.

sessions two big games came in a loss to the Bulls, 151-135, both teams were eliminated and not playing a lick of defense. sessions had 20pts and 25assists. but his team allowed 151pts. and gordon and duhon combined for 50pts. so it doesn't seem like sessions was locking anyone down.

the other big game was a loss to the minnesota twolves, also eliminated and probably trying to lose for lotto position. in fact, every game he had double digit assists in was a loss in april to a team that was either out of contention or had their position sewn up and wasn't trying that hard. milwaukee was starting sessions in order to tank. he started their last seven games and they lost every one.

what about trying to get Mo Williams from Milwaukee? that's a PG D'Antoni could work with.

I do think Milwaukee is a valid trade partner to explore - they're almost as screwed up as we are. Bobby Simmons makes almost $10 Million and expires in 2010. Charlie V expires in 2010.

This is cap neutral, but works in the sense that you re-model the backcourt & dump malcontent Randolph.

Milwaukee Bucks

Incoming Players
Zach Randolph
Salary: $13,333,333 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 17.6 REB: 10.3 AST: 2.0 PER: 18.04

Jamal Crawford
Salary: $7,920,000 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 20.6 REB: 2.6 AST: 5.0 PER: 15.99

Renaldo Balkman
Salary: $1,280,640 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 3.4 REB: 3.3 AST: 0.6 PER: 11.55

Nate Robinson
Salary: $1,268,160 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 12.7 REB: 3.1 AST: 2.9 PER: 15.38

Outgoing Players: Dan Gadzuric, Michael Redd, Ramon SessionsNew York Knicks

Incoming Players
Dan Gadzuric
Salary: $5,751,130 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 3.2 REB: 2.8 AST: 0.2 PER: 10.78

Michael Redd
Salary: $14,520,000 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 22.7 REB: 4.3 AST: 3.4 PER: 18.90

PTS: 8.1 REB: 3.4 AST: 7.5 PER: 16.35

Outgoing Players: Zach Randolph, Jamal Crawford, Renaldo Balkman, Nate Robinson

Now you're looking at:

C: Curry, Gadzuric
PF: Lee, Anthony Randolph w/ # 5 pick
SF: Chandler, JJ2
SG: Redd
PG: Marbury, Sessions

And Marbury isn't a malcontent also Gadzuric you might as welll bring in Jerome James' twin brother. And you draft a lotto pick thats going to play behind Lee umm wouldn't it make infintely more sense to get a point guard instead of having you know that "malcontent" running the team.

I kinda hope we dont go the cap space route. I know it would be nice to have a shot at a Lebron or Wade but so far in the history of this league and current CBA only one player of that caliber has ever changed teams.

I would rather go the route of buildng a great team with high level talent at each position, good coach, etc. The Knicks are one of the few teams that can afford to do that. I KNOW we can buy late picks from teams like Sea and package them w/ expiring contracts for guys like Michael Redd, Jermaine Oneil, Mike Miller, Barbosa, Diaw, Dalembert, etc etc

Mix in some good young talent from the draft including our own guys like Lee, Chandler, Nate, maybe Balkman and let Mike D and Donnie build a TEAM

you can't move those two in the same deal without getting rid of a huge contract with them
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The Bucks owner has already shot done the Bucks getting ZBo once, do you think he's going to change his mind?

Charlie V is a silky smooth scorer who would seem to be a very nice fit for the D'Antoni offense.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading Lee in some type of package for Charlie V but right now doesn't Lee have the higher perceived value around the league between he and Charlie?

If Lee does have the higher value - why wouldn't we target Milwaukee's #1 pick or possibly Mo Williams.

I've really never seen Sessions outside of the Orlando camp last year but I'd be cautious basing much on the last couple of games of the year - see Mardy Collins in 06-07.

i like Mo Williams but i wouldn't give up D Lee for him... i'd try to package Nate & Malik's expiring for him if anything, otherwise it's not worth taking on his contract... he's more of a scoring G & we have plenty of those already (& likely to add another one w/our draft pick)

for their lottery pick it's not a bad idea tho, or in a larger deal for Bogut or Yi.
