Based on what I've seen in Phoenix, not very much.. I appreciate the hustle, but his jumper is borderline embarassing. It's part of the reason teams can easily drop off him to double Zach and EC so often. That type of stuff contributes to everyone struggling on the offensive side, the way I see things.

to be fair, in D'Antoni's system, Lee gonna be a PF. And Q will be gone pretty quick.

I'd do it... the Knicks could use some shooters. Reddick has been garbage so far, true, but tell me what exactly has Balkman accomplished so far? He's pretty much in the same category as Reddick: a blown first round draft pick. Furthermore, Reddick's upside is better for the Knicks than Balkman's for all the reasons stated above.

Diaw actually has always had a semblance of an offensive game. Balkman will not be Diaw.

id trade mardy collins for him stright up collins can work with nelson in the backcourt and redick can replace collins guard spot and fight for minutes

D'A likes versatile players.
Why not aim for a guy like Walter Hermann.
I'm also interested in CJ Miles, a young cheap Crawford type.

Not interested in JJ or JR.

I think Balkman needs to get some run in D'Antoni's system before he is traded unless it is a major deal. His total lack of a jump shot could end his career but he may excel in D'Antoni's system. Imagine if that pick was used in a conventional manner.

So it sounds like a good trade and then several on this thread say it's garbage? So is it good or isn't it? How can we be so contrasting like that? It really makes me wonder.

True, I don't think Balkman has turned into anything great for us.
I'll never trust this' team again.

The way a coach uses his team really shows how good a player is. Only time I have seen JJ Redick in a NBA game this year is when the Magic need 3 pointers fast with under 2:00 mins left on the clock. Stan Van Gundy is a defensive minded coach. D'Antoni is an offensive minded coach. Players like Diaw and Raja Bell are products of D'Antoni's system. D'Antoni was never huge on defense (he traded away his best defender for Fat cop). If your telling me JJ Redick cannot be used efficiently in this system, Duke fan or not, your lying to yourself.

Balkman has been one of the lone bright spots on this team since he's been here and he's fast as balls. Why would we trade him for that shrimpy loser. Gerry McNamara is a lights out NCAA Champion shooter that's always injured, undersized and available. I don't see anyone pining for him.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

From what I recall Balkman wasnt that good this yr, but I only watched 50 games this season so maybe your right.
