The Knicks trade the pick for Steve Francis
We trade the pick and next year's pick to the Bulls for the fattest person in Chicago that they can find.

I'd go with Eric Gordon.

If it winds up going down like Briggsy layed it out here, TRADE UP and get Bayless. If everything holds serve & we wind up with the 5th pick one option could be Curry and #5 to the T-Wolves for Antoine Walker and #3.

KNICKS - We get our lead guard in Jerryd Bayless for the next 12+ seasons (God willing), remove Curry's longterm contract which would be a huge cap relief and then further orginize our cap by getting Walker who we can just release when his team option comes up after next season.

WOLVES - Out of the vets being exchanged the Wolves get the far younger and superior player in Curry (and they could use a legit center), they no longer need to focus on drafting Brook Lopez if that was their target and now look elsewhere for help in the draft at #5 (OJ Mayo, Anthony Randolph, etc.).

Any thoughts??

If we stay at number 5 I've never wavered once I want Gordon.

The reasons I don't like Gordon - strong but a little undersized at 6'3"-6'4" for a guy that's gonna be a pure 2, played poorly down the stretch of last season at Indiana partially due to the hand/wrist injury, we already have Crawford and Nate Robinson and can sure up the spot even further by going after a JR Smith with the mid-level or attempt to purchase a low 1st rounder/high 2nd rounder from a team that we can turn into a talent 2-guard with promise.

Eric Gordon for sure. He's a shot maker which is what D'Antoni covets. He'll fit right into D'Antoni's system.

It sounds absolutely outrageous, but then you realize shyat like this really happens here in Knicks World.

i'd go westbrook or randolph. i think love is way overrated on this board...he's a jumpshooter that's too unathletic to keep up with most of the league - opposing PF's will destroy us, considering how slow he is and how his vert is so bad. lopez isn't going to be as bad as most people think, keep in mind he had to score a lot on double teams, which is why his FG% is low (his teammates could not score, period), but defensively he has good instincts and toughness and offensively his shot is reliable and he has some post moves. i think he will struggle against the super athletic guys like amare and dwight though.

Gosh -

I have to go with Anthony Randolph or Russell Westbrook - depending on who the Knicks like better.

Brook Lopez in intriguing but I'm not sure they'd take him given current roster and expected style of play.

Lopez is actually a guy with a nice outside touch who wasn't used much in pick and roll at Stanford. I wonder if he shows he has good hands and can run pick and roll that they might take him.
