I really don't see the point. Nash isn't going to be passing him the ball in NYC.



And I really don't see Mike D running the same system the suns ran. We can't.

Since we gonna delve deep into this factorial bit of tabloid news, lets assume for the most part MikeD has some basic components to his game and Nash, who is HOF BTW is gonna help him a bit. Now no one said they gonna work out every day, but how many NBA players might live downtown in the off season? Nash is known for his crazy motor as is Lee. These guys are very similar in they relay on quickness.

Lee and Nash can share hair secrets also!

Im sure Nash in two years when his contract is done, as is his legs will be a sure fire fit to join the knicks!

Lee should be shooting jump shots by himself all summer. This is just a way for him to avoid the real problem: his jump shot. He's going to be wasting time communicating with Steve. They'll obviously at least say "hello" every day and probably talk even more than that. All that is valuable time he should be spending on his jump shot.

Lee is a leeching, time-wasting player. And it's definitely an insult to Marbury whom I am sure sent full team invites to hike in the mountains, no one got in the truck this time except his younger bro.

The point I think is do any of us know exactly what is the reason he's doing this?

I think it is of little question that potential money is a motivation, but this is the case for every single player in the NBA, and oh, say, the entire workforce of pretty much the world.

Certainly there is a record of players in sports chilling out after getting a payday, but this is not what every player does, and of course this is not exactly immune from other jobs that involve either guaranteed money, or a very hard time losing your job. Like say politicians, who often say all of the right things when trying to get elected, but then can totally change direction after the fact because of how hard it can be to hold them accountable if they don't actually think you're needs as a voter are a priority.

There are other factors that are behind people's motivation which money can help satisfy, yet there are other ways of satisfying desires such as: respect, ego, etc.

Point is, how exactly is it a bad thing that Lee is working out with Nash?

Lee forged a very good relationship with Dantonio at the Olympic workouts last summer. Lee has a lot of faults but it isnt because of being lazy.

You raise a good point, King, that people's own financial security and privilege can also affect motivation.

You have to realize Lee is the minority in his profession. He has to gain respect of players and it motivates him to be accepted and to be good at his professions. Do you think lee worked his butt of the last qtr of last season for the knicks ?

No I dont think he did. I think he competed in games. Does he work harder than anyone else in the summer? Yes. I am not going to make excuses for last season but if you work in a quiet office and they had a band playing everyday would your work efficiency go down. When you have no leadership, no practice, and bad working conditions I think it effects everyone.
