I am thrilled. Walsh's first official move (re assigning Isiah doesn't count) is a step in the right direction.

I guess it really depends on what the D'Antoni signing leads to in the further planing process of the season.
1. Are we still in full rebuild?
2. Is it still the plan to dump salary and go all out in 2010s FA market?
3. Is D'Antoni also comitted to this plan? Thus trying to implement his system in the few young guys, we will build around and draft? Is he fine to give up "talent" (sorry choking on using this word in the context of the current Knicks roster!) in order to dump bad contracts?
4. Will he be supported by a good defensive coach as assistent?
5. What other roster moves will come?

Well I guess its wait and see! But Id love to see Rose run inside his system...

Am happy with the signing. I see Walsh as taking his time and being professional and thats what this organization needed. Now Id like to see him get M Jackson as an asst. and bring back Patrick as a big mans coach and this would bring back some of the heritage of this organization. This organization was so far in the dumps that it needs to bring back some prideful players and show the rest of the NBA that The Knicks aint gonna be the team to kick around anymore. I dont know abouthow we should rebuild the team itself yet and Im willing to wait till the draft and see what plays out yet but you gotta admit in the past months since Walsh came here its been good vibrations. When was the last time we felt this way??

I am undecided. Part of me is saying that DAntoni is a good basketball mind and that is always a plus. I question whether this means the Knicks still will not be playing defense? I really hope that they do. I am eager to see who he brings in as assistants.

The other part of me wishes we had brought in MJax. I think that the team and he could have grown together. Obviously, Walsh heard something he did not like and decided MJax was not ready yet.

I think Walsh is a smart guy. I think MikeD can coach and is a smart guy. I am not sold that he is the right choice for this city.

Finally, maybe now we will see a "motion" offense that IT kept talking about!

Given the situation the team is in, no coach could make me a happy Knicks fan. Not now at least.

Neither happy nor unhappy just waiting to see how it plays out. But not sure I get all the negativity.

They're jealous. No other explanation. They can't attack Mike on his record, so they go after his playoff record, who he got beat by a very good team in S.A. And let's face it. The Suns needed more than just Nash to carry that team. Shaq is just too old and useless now. Can you imagine if we get LeBron in a few years added onto some of what we have now and if we get a shot at the top two draft picks now? That's why D'Antoni makes sense.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think one important factor in Mike's signing would be something that's plagued us since isiah came along. There will be no more emotional reaction behind closed doors (that includes attacking and jumping on someone, while they are taking a shower), there will be no more attitude or soap opera's to deal with, there will be no more princesses to have to deal with.

These guys will have to shape up now and do something we were supposed to be doing a long, long time ago! Learn to play the game of basketball and play to win. That was isiah's biggest failing. That's all he had to do with this team and he totally blew it!!! That's all that was required of him and he let it all get out of hand. If anyone stepped out of line, then all he had to do was get rid of them and use that person as an example. Instead he chose to be afraid of them and let them push him around. Big mistake.

This is what happened to Brown. When they (suckbury) did that to Brown, via the media and Brown tried to fight back, guess who got thrown out?! Totally the wrong way to manage a ball club and now isiah is finding that out, the hard way. That's why this man is stupid and where he is right now.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Remember, in a few years, D'Antoni will have a very different looking team.

(1) We are still in rebuild mode and I am convinced that dolan is going to stay out of it this time.
(2) Your damn right we're going to make the cap flex and go after some big shots.
(3) D'Antoni is gonna have' to be committed to this plan no doubt. Those moves are gonna have to be up to whoever the GM is going to be and Donnie will make sure that the new GM and Coach will get along well. That is very important!
(4) In light of the D'Antoni, I would even think twice about bringing Ewing in as some assistant to help on the defense with the big guys. But I'd look around first. And look for the brass to look for certain people in the near future to make defense one of our top priorities.
(5) As far as other roster moves, don't look for too many trades in the next two years, if any. I think it will be more of letting someone go, if they have to and if they can.

It feels good to be actually talking about basketball again.
I'll never trust this' team again.

It def. does feel good!!!
Concerning point 3) and 5): To me those are actually the MAIN things that have to work! The GM and the coach have to be dedicated to rebuilding and thus also have the freedom to loose (record wise as well as talent wise when it comes to certain intellegent roster moves)!

The last thing I want is another big time coach being brought in to win with THIS roster under the illusion, we have all the parts and only missed the right coaching and chemistry...

This move means that Dolan committed a lot of money.
We will see a lot of dumps and buyouts soon.
I will not be surprised if we will see only 2-3 players from this roster on the team next spring.
