slow your row, fellas, slow your row. remember this is only summer league. i can recall in 97 when we had three number one picks in john wallace, dontae jones and walter mccarty. that team DOMINATED the summer league. six years later i see two floating around the nba ( hopefully)and one is a bench player. i think frank williams will be a solid player but he still has a lot to learn as well as lampe and sweetney.

I know its summer league, but if Frank Could somehow turn into a dominant point guard - that would be sweet...then Milos wouldnt mean as much to us and we could maybe get something for him.

With the exception of Mccarty the other two had mental issues.... believe me this current group is a totally different stock....

again, Frank was great. Seemingly hitting all the big shots, driving at will, shutting down the opposing PG. The only thing is that Frank has absolutely no confidence in his teammates - and it shows. But why should he. Lampe scored. Yes, but he still looked lost, played passively against a soft Dallas group of scrubs that just couldn't get anything to fall. Sweets still will be Weatherspoon part two once he enters the league, as having his shot blocked the most. He gets to the line so much because he never gets that far off the floor on his forrays to the basket (usually within 5 feet) and gets contact with the player who is usually in his face. Lampe looks really sad out there, I wish he'd be aggressive and show some fire. Everyone looks like they are dead tired from partying the night before at the summer L.

Caseloads just listen to yourself here and tell me how that sounds.

Now I know I had not been high on sweetney but listen to yourself if sweetney gets to the line a lot then 2 things hold true..
1) he will be much better than weatherspoon
2) he will be a very good NBA player because all good scorers and players know how to get to the line.

I mean if I get to the line 15 times a game, does it matter how? then you say he gets contact from the other player. Well got damn isn't that what good players do? Your statements don't make sense.

And the fact that you said Lampe looks sad has nothing to do with his skill. Total irrelevant on his ability to play...

peace.. TKF

We have good reason to be proud that we have one of the best point guards in the summer L.

On a side note, I'm glad to see Chris Herren healthy and playing again. This guy is a top notch point guard and if he stays healthy we could ATLEAST use him as our third string pg.

chris Herren at best can be a good role player, about 20 min a game.. Top notch? LOL!!!! NO way.....

Which leads me to this question. If he is a top notch PG why would we use him as 3rd string?

Come on guys....

I have no doubt that Chris Herren is just as good if not better than all of our current point guards, no doubt whatsoever. The problem with him is throughout his career he had nagging injuries. If you pick him up and go easy on him he would bring you energy at the point position off the bench. But the guy is REALLY good. I have followed him for some time. He is an excellent shooter, penetrator, and passer. He came into the league a year after Jason Williams (55), for Boston and got hurt. But i have always thought that if he is healthy and given a chance he would be one of the best pure point guards in the league. And i still maintain this opinion.

Again so I ask you, if he is better than our 3 Pg's then why not start him, why go easy on him?

Well my reasoning is that if he has had problems with injuries in the past then we wouldnt want to put him in a position where he would run the risk of reinjuring himself, i.e. playing a lot of minutes. Thats just my opinion, maybe im biased cause i watched the kid develop into a player and then watched him slip through the cracks when an injury down.

I wouldnt want to play someone who was previously injured a great deal of minutes in, oh i dont know, a preseason game like one coach i know.
