I'm really glad to see that Larry isn't going to be completely tarnished by that scum of the earth Isiah and his enabler Idiot Dolan. At least now, people with common sense can see that Larry had nothing to do with this mess. They were the laughingstock of professional sports before Larry was there and after he left. The only thing laughable now are the ridiculous cries of sabotage by Brown. How exactly do you sabotage a ship that was already doomed and sinking?

Larry paid his one year of penance for whatever he needed to do to survive that circus and now he can move on with his Hall of Fame coaching career.

Completely well thought out, rational, and throughly unbiased opinion here. Y

Thank you.

It feels good knowing that Larry Brown is completely vindicated.

How much was the contract worth and how quickly will Larry Brown whine like a little girl and get to his money and hit the road. Next sucker.

Nobody is denying Browns hall-of-fame resume and the fact that he has turned around a lot of programs. But there are too many here denying that the hall-of-famer has just as much blood on his hands during his one-year-run with the Knicks as Isiah and Dolan.

Larry Brown is a demanding coach yes, and he couldnt get our bunch of mismatched losers to do anything, agreed. But if you are serious about getting results and if you have accumulated a team with players who are willing to work hard and learn, the Larry Brown is about the best coach you can get.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

this does not look like a fit to me.

brown is not a good coach for the new NBA - ie the one that favors scoring PGs, zone defense, athleticism, speed and finesse.

jordan has been a bad GM, too. this is not gonna work.

to me, Brown's style fits to a T with the team in Chicago. I don't know why he didn't go there. maybe chicago didn't want him.

I think it's the latter

The type of team Brown needs is a veteran team which is close but need to get over the hump. Everyone is digging this pied piper and singing his praises, yes he won the title in the ABA and NCAA's and then took RICK CARLISE's team with the addition of Wallace to the FINALS and won. Before that his last title was years ago, remember he had the Pacers with Reggie, Rick S., the Davis duo during the Jordan years. He had AI in Philly, had a couple of playoff runs, so what's with this coaching god deal anyway? He's a good coach but extremely high maintenance and was a bad hire from jump by the Knicks, I said it then and I still say that now.

i was kinda thinking on the same lines, and wanted to note brown and jordan may be overpowering authority.

brown's selection seems more like a homecoming.

i watched the press conference. only things of note:

- mj asked him to coach last year but lb's wife didn't want to move again after only 1 year in ny.
- he will pick his own assistants (said he needs people on his staff he can trust)
- he will have input on personnel but the final decision is mj's
- said he did a terrible job in ny
- on relating with today's players - said the toughest thing is knowing the difference between coaching and criticism. if a player is willing to be coached, then there shouldn't be a problem.
- one reporter asked him if he like practice more than in-game coaching and his response ala iverson was "practice? are we talking 'bout practice?"

In the feed you helped link yesterday...

LB said the thing he learned most coaching in New York and his 2yrs off is you have to have a good point guard to be successful in this league. One who distributes and defends.

This proves he's still hot as fish grease at Marbury LOL!

At least somebody is willing to take some blame.

The 2 people who deserve the most blame are still associated with the Knicks and refuse to talk to the fans, through the media, much less accept any blame for the past 5 years. Hell, they still think they did a great job and have laid a great foundation for this organization moving forward.

Everyone involved was to blame for that season.

Not the point. Everybody is aware that Zeke was horrible, thats why he doesnt have that job anymore -- and its why he's been humiliated at every turn over the past year. Its the LB stans that almost completely tried to absolve him from any responsibility regarding that 05-06 catastrophe.

There, we have it on tape that LB admitted he sucked. Or is LB a liar? Its clear now that he helped to set the franchise back with his machinations and maneuvers.

Only a weasel would shy away from blame instead Brown mans up. Even his supporters felt he should bear some of the blame, so I really don't get your point at all.

Set the franchise back from what? Winning 33 games? His mark on the franchise is such a small blip that it doesn't even look like he ever worked here.

Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I'm sorry but Larry Brown is awesome. I wish things worked out for him, I know I'm in the minority, but I really like the man and think he's an excellent coach. The Bobcats are lucky to have him.
