I remember listening to Ernie Accorsi interviewed before an nfl draft some years ago. He never showed his hand. What he said and what he was thinking were two completely different things. I understand how you feel, but I wouldn't be concerned. Donnie's been around a long time, so he knows how to manage the media.

I agree. Ainge never said he was unhappy with the young guys like Gerald Green on his team. Everyone's public perception was that they were in full rebuild mode because that's what he told the public. Then he deviated from his publicly stated plan (obtained some great veterans) and put together arguably the best team in the league.

I don't know if this job is right for this man. He certainly has the credentials but it really sounds like a guy who is not ready to create a vision but rather just get the pile of bones somehow to work here with cap space as a benefit for someone else if he cant. He was a semi-retired guy in Indiana and now he is going to rebuild this disaster with the main GM being Grunweld or whatever his name is and the same scouting staff at 67-68? I mean there is a very plausible scenario that IT still has a huge hand in what happens personel-wise behind the scenes. I don't know--have to wait and see. I really do think that the Knicks believe small alterations can change what they have here to a winner--that they already have the key parts in place. blah it did not sound swell

First of all he was NOT semi-retired. He was the CEO of the franchise and he worked as hard as ANYONE there. Get the facts straight. He has a vision but he is not going to come out and say it before he can implement it. He has said he wants to get under the cap before 2010 but still put a competetive team on the floor. He does not want to add salary for the future so to improve right away may be difficult. He has said that he believes in a defensive center( goodbye curry when he can get rid of him) You can't trash curry and then try to trade him. Isiah will have NO part of the future. Walsh is a pro and he wants to give isiah the respect and have him leave with his dignity. Be patient and read between the lines.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Glen Grunwald shouldn't still have a job here. That guy sucks.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Yeah, that's a good point. Obviously if he came out and said he wants to be under the cap in 2010/11, then he does not want Curry, Zach, and Jamal on the roster for the long-term. It's actually surprising that he even came out and made the cap statement. That involves sharing more of your plan than I'd expect.
