Maybe we can wait for Donnie's next pick. If he picks a bust, let's just see what NY's reaction will be.

What I am looking for is a greater accountability league wide(announcers-fans-writers) when scouts or Gm's continue to take chances on questionable players whether it be lack of ability or off the court issues.

This is a MAJOR investment, atleast that's what they tell us all the time.

If the leagues standard is so high, why aren't they spending more time evaluating talent, so if the kid isn't ready in their opinion ...just don't draft them.

GMs are held accountable if enough draft picks, signings, etc don't pan out they get fired. I can't speak about the media outlets in other cities but in NY GMs are villifed if they pick total flops. I do think most of the blame should fall on the draftee' shoulders because at some point you have to take responsibility for your choices. So if you choose to enter the NBA draft before your ready or in many cases don't put the work in to get ready for the NBA game then they have no one to blame but themselves. If you are talking about the high talent level (potential lotto picks talent) the major difference between the ones who make it and the ones who flame out is work ethic.

Fishmike I answered it in the above post.

There is no other corporate job where the foot soldier(PLAYER) takes most of the blame when millions of dollars are being invested on a product that doesn't have what it takes to stay and perform at a high level after months of evaluating them before draft day.

Only the NBA.

Arrested six times in two years? Two jail sentences? I mean everybody makes mistakes, but this shows a pattern and a complete disregard for the law. Now you think hell stop? LOL. Once a perp always a perp, whoever wastes a pick on this kid will regret it.

Ugh. I agree, ridiculous. Not a chance in hell I would draft the guy. Though he's fit right in with our team of criminals. We could rename our team to the NY state penitentiary.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

This my point, Gm's who take the chance and use poor judgement and blow it always get the free pass from the media and fans outside of NY ESPECIALLY.

Everyone is so quick to trash the player who's a bust, I thought this was a business the suits should get trashed, the player is making a great business decision by putting himself in the position to get drafted really high in the NBA draft. ?
