Melo is still maturing but watching the Glenn "big dog" robinson tapes won't help him.

He is still a bone head kid but I thought he was making progress.

I know he is still young and young guys make mistakes, but if you want to stay a kid stay in school and have some fun! When you take on the "jump" to the NBA it comes with responsablities.

With all that, the NBA has done a great job of late keeping the players better educated about trouble areas. Very few instances the last year or so about guns, booze, and other stuff. Even Zbo had only one "brush" for old time sakes in portland.

He's older but I don't know if he's maturing. Every year NBA announcers try to make the case that he's maturing and I buy it. But then he always does something really stupid.

He's an idiot.....At the same time I expect him to eventually get it. What will it take though? I expect him to average 30pts at least one season. Nobody at his position can guard him. He's too damn quick and explosive. He needs to just drive and shoot. Catch and make a move. Bernard was exactly like that. Bernard caught that ball and the next thing you know he was scoring. Melo needs to understand this and stop trying to be a hood superstar.

Bernard was a young bone head also. Very immature and got into it with the law.

Then he matured and became the focused stone cold killer on the court in check of his emotions and learned he had to take care of his body to perform and prepared both mentally and physically off the court.

This is why marbury has declined. He still thinks his body is the same and the mind does not count.

I really don't care either way about him. Does he have a team game? Play defense? More concerned about stats than the win?

Karl seems to just mail it in but if you got Melo, AI and JR you got real fire power but you got headaches as well.

Phuchem, we got our own problems.

playa, not to be an ass but put this in your pipe and smoke it:

Meanwhile, a Denver television station is reporting that the city's police department is looking into the possibility some of its officers gave Anthony preferential treatment during his arrest.

According to KWGN-TV, when a person is arrested for DUI in the city, he must be taken to Denver Health Medical Center's detoxification area, or released to someone who is sober and can take responsibility for the driver.

The television station reported that Anthony's fiancee was called, but she refused to pick him up, and a Denver police sergeant ended up driving Anthony to the hotel where he and his fiancee were staying.

LOL I called it a couple post back.

Puff Daddy can't even play the conspiracy game right. I guess that's what happens when one is enamored in scandal and feels there's always a back drop to something.

I believe LA LA is pregnant with child, so getting out of the bed at 4am doesn't sound like something any women would do, especially since he wasn't hurt or anything.

Alot of people drink and drive as long as their not trashed.

Carmello Anthony is having perhaps his best NBA season. He's averaging 25.8 points per game, fourth in the NBA and started his first All-Star Game.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

But they only gave him a ticket and released him, so how drunk could he have been ?

So was Melo booked because he was DWB? Is this what you're implying he was stopped really for no reason?

He was drunk enough to not stay in a single lane and driving with brights on. Considering he's already made an Apology to the Denver community I'd say this speaks for itself.

Playa you're like Puff Daddy.... "You Won't Stop With The Suspicion, Speculation, Gossip, and Conspiracy Theory"....I Thought I Told You That I Won't Stop, I Thought I Told You That I Won't Stop"

Listen here funny man, how many people get pulled over for drunk driving and get released and is just given a ticket. ??? You're reasoning is way off , do not pass go, do not collect $200.00

Playa please enlighten us all on the Melo Drunk Driving Conspiracy! You know the conspiracy Melo was being targeted as a victim...

Carmelo Anthony's blood alcohol level nearly twice legal limit
CBS4 News

Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony's blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit for driving under the influence when Denver police arrested him earlier this month, a CBS4 investigation found.

CBS4's Brian Maass reported that Anthony's blood alcohol level registered .148 percent, according to multiple sources familiar with the results of Anthony's blood test. The legal limit for DUI in Colorado is .08 percent.

Denver police arrested Anthony on April 14 after seeing his car swerving as it traveled southbound on Interstate 25.

Police said he failed all roadside sobriety tests, although he told officers that he only had "two glasses of red wine" at a downtown Denver restaurant before the DUI stop. According to the Nuggets Web site, Anthony is 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds.

"We received notice that Carmelo's blood test came back over the legal limit. This is old news, in that Carmelo has admitted from the beginning that he had been drinking and driving and should not have been," Anthony's attorney, Dan Recht, told CBS4.

"Carmelo has said he will take responsibility for his actions, and he does. Carmelo continues to be deeply disappointed in himself, as (he) has said before. Carmelo's actions that night were completely out of character and something he has never done before," Recht said.

First-time offenders in Colorado typically lose their driver's license for at least three months when their blood alcohol level exceeds the legal limit for DUI.

He's a BUM! I wouldn't want him on my team at all. It's interesting to note The Nuggets and Denver media already knew of this information but the media conveniently decided to publish the article after the Nuggets were swept by the Lakers and Melo's distasteful comments on how their series was going. It appears to me maybe the Nugz are warming up to the idea of severing ties from his immaturity/bad attitude/selfishness and bad press.

I think it's funny how Playa had this idea in his head Melo maybe wasn't drunk but instead part of a smear/image targeted athlete crusade.

Playa should pay some of us to do his conspiracy work. We tried to tell him Melo may have been let go because of who he was not because of the possibility of him not being drunk.

Well you know how we do... let's start the Melo Is Coming To New York No Doubt About It Summer Trades

Just two glasses of wine? With Dinner? What size glasses were those? Or does he just have a very low-tolerance for alcohol?

Didn't you make Melo trade suggestion just the other day?

One came into my head that may have been what you posted a couple days ago and that's New Jersey trades with Denver

Melo, Kleiza and their 2008 pick

4

Carter, Williams, and their 2008 pick

I never said he wasn't drunk, I mentioned how drunk could he be?

Listen anybody ever drives at 4am before (TIRED) ? Now add some alcohol and you might be suprise that your expensive car would do the "WAVE" too.

No excuse for him, he's a grown man, but if a good coach(not mussleman)like Don Nelson- eddie sutton was busted all they would have to do is go to AA and everybody would be praising them for getting help. LOL

Nalod it wasn't about being white(go pick your battles with killa why don't you)

The comparison was star player vs veteran coach in trouble.

Carmelo Was Cited For Speeding Saturday
May 7, 2008 - 6:29 am
The Denver Post -
Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony was cited for speeding last weekend for driving 60 mph in a 45-mph zone, a local police spokesman told The Denver Post.

The ticket is payable through the mail, but marks the second traffic citation in less than a month for the All-Star.

Anthony was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in April, and he blood alcohol level was reported as nearly twice the legal limit.

On June 5, a date will be determined for Anthony to make his plea.

It's becoming clear in my mind the Denver media has turned on Melo and his days seriously could be numbered. They could rebuild quite fast if they made some good pairings in trades.
