Main reason why Chandler stands out is becuase unlike his teammates, he actually plays both sides of the ball. With that said, there are a few things he needs to work on going into, as ENY says, an important summer.

Handle: He really needs to work on this part of his game. At this point, he struggles trying to create his own shot off the dribble

Charity buckets: He doesn't get to the line nearly as much as he can especially with the strong build he has to absorb contact and still get his shot off. This can improve as he improves his handle and the ability to get to the rim.

Mid-range-game: He has a nice stroke and should concentrate on perfecting his 15-17 foot Jay. Right now he's shooting 25% from 3. He can make them when he is uncontested, but again, a few steps in would help his FG% which is at 44%. This needs to improve aswell.

Help up top: He needs a helping hand at the point. Hell, the whole team does. But Chandler is more of a finisher right now in the molds of a Shawn Marion type (no, I'm not saying he's as good as Marion), and needs someone to set the table for him. A point guard who can push the tempo and allow Chandler to fill the lane and can penetrate through a half-court set defense, and dish to Chandler for an uncontested Jay would help him tremendously. A PG would cover some of his flaws (innability to consistantly create offense for himself, and get open Jays). A pg would improve his FG% tremendously and allow him to take good shots.

Chandler is definitely a keeper and with the right mix at Pf and Center, he could be an effective starter in this league.

When did Wilson Chandler prove that there's something special in him???

If he can become a solid player off the bench on a good team, I would be ecstatic. But I guess some people want to use completely meaningless games to prove that they were "right" about something.

Isiah is the only person that stunted Wilson Chandler's growth.

He did nothing wrong , to not have been given a chance when the sf's in front of him stunk most of the year.

Chandler will be a very nice player especially when new management takes over.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I agree with everything you just said. So where did you get "special" from? What has he done that was special? Can we just let the kid develop and then see where he is instead of rushing to label him as special or the obvious starting SF moving forward?
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

I know balkman took about 10 steps backwards in every aspect of his game. Chandler looks better then Balk, fry, mardy, and nate. And you guys are right on when you say he does it on both ends of the floor.

Imo a big part of frys, nate and mardy's regress is the fact they had no role's towards the end of the year, they just played loosy goosy with no guide lines.

I wouldn't say these games can be Identify as glorified pick up games or preseeson as a reason for his success, it pretty much comes down to his abilty to get quality minutes without looking at the scores table after ever whistle. Your just able to play more relax knowing what kind of minutes your going to get.

Way to early to tell on him, I like his range, his body, his ability to block shots, but again Channing Frye looked so good for a month there were people iffy on moving him for Garnett.

Mardy looked somewhat polished last year on the offensive end getting to the rim, it's too early to tell.

We need to think about Mayo in the draft it looks like, adding another defender and brining in someone like lowry while getting rid of crawford.

I honestly think both of those guys (Frye and Mardy) just got injured and were never the same. It's too much of a coincidence that they both were playing so much better before having serious injuries.

Whatever they learned in College that made them effective in the NBA was lost I guess Isiah had something to do with that. Mardy I think had a major set back with the Knee injury he had, he already wasn't athletically gifed but the injury set him back this year. Chandler is a nice player he should have been give a ton of minutes this year but once again Isiah is here and he is an idiot after all.
