LOL. We are gonna some guy like Love aka white Mike Sweetney. That's just great.

Speaking of White......Chase Budinger.......the guy is a nice player. Nobody is talking about him. He could be a decent player in this league.

When has the last white american born player taken in the top ten pan out to be worthy of the pick?

Here we go...

Hijacked from the Ex-NY Times forum...
Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy had an interesting take on the matter when he appeared on "The Boog Sciambi Show'' on 790 AM radio in Miami last Friday.

Here's the uncut dialogue:

Sciambi: "Would they [the media] use the same adjectives to describe him [Hansbrough] if he were black?''

SVG: "Well, probably not. But I think there's two things going on there. Well three. Let's give the guy his due. He plays the game well and he plays it hard, OK
. With no hyperbole he does do that, so let's start there.

"But then the second and third factors I think definitely you hit on it, there's the racial thing. People go crazy over white players. They tend to assign character qualities to them rather than just good play. And then the third thing is the emotion. He plays with a lot of emotion."

playa it's unfotunate because you don't seem like a bad guy--but why does nearly every one of your posts have to deal with racist issues? Quite honestly that should be offensive type of talk to everyone. Either you like the player or you don't--I don't think color has anything to do whether or not someone will be good/bad. Like Mark Jackson says--you are better than that.

To answer the question Chris Kaman 2003 pick #6. 15.7pts 12.7rebs 2.8blks

You could argue Kirk Hinrich 2003 pick #7.
Dunleavy 2002 pick #3. Averaging 18.8pts, 5.3rebs, 3.4ast 47fg% 42 3pt% this season.
Mike Miller 2000 pick #5. Rookie of the yr, averaging 16.4pts 6.7rebs 3.4ast 50fg% 43 3pt% this season.

None are superstars and each one of there teams have been bad this season. So I guess it depends on your criteria for what makes them worthy.

The duds in the last 10yrs have been. Adam Morrison, Luke Jackson, Chris Mihm, Joel Prizybilla, Wally Szczerbiak, Raef Lafrentz. Jason Williams?

Wally S is not a dud. He is no star, but he did make a well deserved all star appearance one year, and is still a nice player to have. He's not anywhere near a dud. Not a star, but good player.

Mike Miller and Kirk Hinrich were important part of teams that have been in the playoffs. Not this year, but in years past.

I guess we could remove Wally from the dude list, he does have a career average of 15pts, 4rebs, 48fg%, 40 3p%, 86ft%.

For that matter, if we had Scott Skiles coach, I'd be doing cartwheels (Even though I can't) to bring in Heinrich. He fit in Skiles system nicely.

Ok so how good is Chase Budinger?

Early in the year he woulda been a lottery pick now he's destined to be picked in the late teens or 20's. The dude is not a non athletic diabetic like that dude from Gonzaga or just a college star like that Dukie caca head in Orlando....

Its kinda hard not to compare a white player with another white player. Guys like Mike Miller and David Lee and even Chase Budinger are the exception cuz of their unique skills...its hard to compare these 3 to anyone of any color.
