I think he needs to feel the pain of the fans to truly understand how much damage Thomas did to the franchise on and off the court. Hopefully Walsh will tune in on Sunday to hear the resounding 'Fire Isiah'chants. Walsh has alot of connections including Stern and LB. Hopefully they will give him an earful.

Tomorrow's crowd will probably be filled with kids, tourists and people just happy to get tickets to see a game. Hopefully on Wednesday against Orlando there will be a real Knicks crowd there with season ticket holders. Donnie should be in attendance to witness how real Knicks fans feel about Isiah.

Knicks are playing Orlando tomorrow and the Bobcats on Wednesday but I agree about the crowds not being real Knick fans now.

As for the original topic at hand, I also agree with that.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

One theory is that Walsh wasn't planning on becoming president until the end of the season. But because of the constant speculation and false reports created by the media, they decided to make the announcement earlier than planned. Though it has been announced. Walsh may still wait until seasons end to really get into it.

Waiting until the end of the season to fire Isiah would normally be ok. But if Isiah is going to have an ulterior motive (when doesn't he have one?) and deviate from playing the young guys these last few games then he has to go now.

Last night against the Hornets, Isiah played Chandler 1 minute and Morris got a DNP-CD. That's what I would call a deviation from playing the young kids. Isiah must think that he can still try to prove something by trying to go toe to toe with one of the top teams in the West. Expect more of the same tomorrow against the Magic. Isiah will want to be able to bring up how much progress he and the team has made when he meets with Donnie. You know, because everybody is so stupid compared to Isiah.

Excellent point. I made a similar statement in another thread. I cant remember the last time I seen Isiah up and coaching the way he was last night as if he had something to prove to his new boss. Isiah is an idoit if he believes Walsh will take something from the last 7 games of the season and totally neglect the horrid play the previous 75. Hell, the previous 4 years uder Isiahs watch for that matter.

I can see Isiah trying to sabotage our potential draft position by trying to win these last few games as if he is fighting for the eight seed. Just another kick in the b*lls on the way out.

I can see all of your points about how retaining isiah to do a small job will be a very bad idea in some ways but I 5hink ur all underestimating mr. Walsh.

From what I have observed, he won't stand for any bs.

My bet is he fires isiah as soon as the season is over. He will let him finish the season and them let him go with some dignity

This is the proper theory. Nothing is going to change here until the season is over with. Walsh himself said that.

You guys who expected Walsh's first words at the PC to be "I HAVE FIRED ISIAH" followed with "I AM DEMANDING (interim coach) TO PLAY MORRIS-LEE-BALKMAN-CHANDLER-COLLINS 48 MPG" are delusional as a result of wanting Isiah gone so badly.

If there's one thing Walsh is not going to do - is pull an Isiah - and fire everyone and deport every player Isiah brought in. That's not how the man works.

He is patient, he is methodical, he is respectful ----- and this is exactly what we need here.

You all need to calm down and be patient and stop already villifying Walsh for absolutely nothing at all.

Half of you think Walsh ordered Isiah to try to win games so he could see what we have here. That's complete and utter bullcrap because Walsh himself is back in Indy tying up his loose ends and packing his things and setting up his family and so on and so forth. Walsh said there would be no immediate changes.

Fellas, there's SIX GAMES LEFT for crying out loud. What on earth do you believe could be or would be accomplished by some massive rash attack on the franchise and roster by Walsh?

LOL... calm down, breathe in, breathe out, find some patience here.

It's been a handful of days and half of you are already calling for Walsh's head because you think he's polishing Dolan and Isiah's balls.

LMFAO what are you guys going to do when you come to the realization that we're embarking on a brand new game plan of which might be THREE YEARS long before we're a good team again?

Give it a rest......... THIS ISNT PLAYSTATION, kiddies, nor the realgm trade checker. This is reality and reality is a patient and methodical man is going to take his time to evaluate what went wrong and what we have before he makes any decisions on change and how much change. He is then going to take his time to make those changes - some of which will be up to three years in the making.

So calm the hell down and stop villifying a man - who wants to do the exact opposite of what Isiah did - and that was come in, pound his chest, fire everyone, and trade everyone out of town JUST BECAUSE they weren't "HIS" players.

Do any of you live in reality anymore? Doesn't seem like it.

The Isiah haters already hate Walsh and think he's already Dolan's boyfriend.
The Isiah lovers are in severe denial needing intervention.

Is anyone like myself left here?

Good grief..........

100% agree...
And by the way what is the point of playing chan, Mardy, Morris, Balk, Nete, and lee.
We all alredy know what they are - nothing special or miles away wrom anything special.
What 6 games will do to make it different?
And about Isiah - he just want to win more that 23... The last battle he still can mathematically win...

I can't imagine that a man in Walsh's situation would want to sully his reputation by being just a yes man. Besides who is he going to be a yes man to? Dolan doesn't know anything and Isiah is under Walsh and on thin ice. To me Walsh is doing this the right way. Patient and thorough. Make sure of what you're doing instead of rushing in and making stupid quick moves.

This thing is gonna take time to fix, so there's no rush, to boot Isiah. Besides as others have said, Dolan likely wants to see if there's a way to get some use out of Isiah rather than just pay him to do nothing. I do believe that in the end if Walsh has a problem with Isiah he'll fire him as he's done once before. I think he's being fair and somewhat merciful too. He's in the unenviable position to have to fire the same guy TWICE!!! A guy he happens to like. So let's give him some slack.

Why isn't there a rush to boot Isiah? Not saying he had to do it at his press conference or even before the season is over but it's it obvious that it has to be done? If Walsh has the autonomy that they made it a point of saying he did, then what does Dolan wanting to keep Isiah around have to do with anything?

Why is it an unenviable position to have to fire the same guy twice? He didn't have anything to do with hiring him in NY or anything else over Isiah's tenure here. It has nothing to do with Walsh having a "problem" with Isiah, it has to do with Isiah not deserving to be here any longer and Walsh having a clean slate to fix this mess.

When Isiah is no longer employed by the Knicks I will believe we are going in a new direction. I think most people will agree with me. Walsh knows that this will NOT be cleansed without the purge of Mr Thomas. If he reminas in ANY capacity--this hire means very little.

like he was for Bird in Indiana. He's 67 and can help make decisions while Isiah does the personell behind the scenes. Unless IT is in another state--I won't believe that he does not have a serious say in what is going on. Nothing personal against IT--he just needs to be eradicated from the memory banks/ Anything less will promote true doubt who is handling this franchise.

I'm gonna wait and see mode. I think if isiah stays, it will be solely dolan's project. Just as long as it doesn't interfer with Walsh.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Thats as statment based purely on emotion. Even if Isiah stayed in a lesser role. Which I doubt because of all the hate towards Isiah that Walsh has witnessed since he became president. I still see Walsh going for cap space by 2010. I still see Walsh looking to balance the roster and breaking up Curry & Randolph. Walsh would have way more respect around the league when it comes to trades.

Im 100% positive that Dolan asked Walsh to see if he could put him in a lesser role rather than just fire him since he is owed 18mil and Dolan just doesn't want to eat that money. Walsh probably okayed that. But if Walsh reported to Dolan and said that he has to fire him. Then I doubt Dolan is going to turn him down. If that were the case, Walsh could just quit since I doubt he cares about the money. Then how would that make Dolan look.

Remember Dolan needed, and came to Walsh. Walsh doesn't need Dolan. If Isiah stays it would be because Walsh wanted that. Not because Dolan demanded it.
