With Walsh now in the mix does this mean no Artest MLE signing in the offseason?

how about Chris Duhon for some portion of the MLE? Especially if we use Nate in a package? Duhon plays D, good passer, gets everyone involved, is a winner.

I like Duhon. But I'm greedy and want more of an impact player! Then again, thats probably what got us in this mess in the first place!
start filling the roster with 2 kinds of players:
young hard working types that know how to play and know how to win. Duhon comes to mind. Old school Knick types.
high ceiling players even if unproven

Good talent isnt always an option around every corner. You need good glue guys at the right cost. Duhon is one of them. Just practicing with him will make guys like Crawford and Nate better. Guys that play "the right way" make the whole team better :)

And cheap vets who can be an influence on the kids we can get or have. I can't tell you how bad Jamal and Nate could use a positive influence.

I like Duhon, I think he could be a good role player here.

An 8 year vet doesn't need a vet to be a positive influence. He himself should actually be a positive influence on others. Maybe Nate needs a positive influence. I think he just needs to mature, which will come as he gets older. I'm skeptical of how much a teammate can truly change the personality and attitude of another player.

Is not getting Artest a bad thing?

People need to stop with this Artest for MLE stupidity. Artest is not a MLE player. You are not getting him unless you trade for him. Artest will not come here for MLE there is no player who command more than the MLE who is willing to take a MLE contract. Players play for money first and glory second. We fans need to understand that and right now there is no glory being a Knicks for an MLE especially if you command more than the MLE.

I want to suck next year to i want 2 straight lottery picks and let all the money roll. if he doesnt see that we will never compete. Do you really think a thug like artest will settle for a MLE?
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

I know the pros and cons of bringing Artest in here have been talked to death on this forum but I was interested to hear peoples thoughts on this..After the "Malice in the Palace" would Walsh ever consider bringing Artest aboard if he could get him on the cheap? Would Artest want to redeem himself with Walsh here? Thoughts, rants, opinions??

Artest is out of the plans because:

isiah = players with bad reputations
Walsh = players with good reputations and who come to play the game of basketball
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think Donnie would happily acquire Artest in a sign and trade where he can off-load either Zach or Curry.

Remenber, Sprewell was an Artest type head-case prior o coming to NY and he thrived here...
You cannot deny the defensive intangibles Artest brings to a team...
Artest is a shut-down SF defender, and Walsh is going to try to reestablish NY's defensive character.
With Walsh now in the mix does this mean no Artest MLE signing in the offseason?
