Echoing what FishMike said about the Artest trade. That trade turned the Indiana franchise around and set the Bulls back. Also, the Knicks made a huge mistake not drafting Artest. That blunder alone set the franchise back close to a decade. That move was typical of Layden. The optimist in me is thinking, if Walsh can get Artest, Mercer, and Brad Miller for Jalen Rose etc, what could he get for Marbury's expiring contract? What could he get for Zach, Eddy, or Lee. This is the first time since Grunfeld/Checketts that the Knicks have an established gm who made significant moves during the course of his tenure with a team including changing and rebuilding while continuing to compete for the playoffs and a championship.
