It is all about having Knicks follow-able next couple of years.
And with Isiah and Dolan personal enrolment in place this team is boring, irrelevant and not worth following up, forget to be excited about.
The only way for real fans to get back on boards to clean the house from Tomas, convince Dolan to stay away as with the Rangers and let the bumpy road back to the team begin. Otherwise - out for good

I'm going to continue to promote 'foundation' establishment of the Knicks. Not this tear it all down and start all over again!

Once again, I will say it is not the whole teams fault. It is bad management and hyped vets who haven't earned a dime. Let it play out, hang on to the good pieces and go from there. Promote this concept. I bet dolan would listen, not that dolan would listen to any of us, but you'd be surprise what kinds of words we put out there could actually end up in his ear.

Foundation is young players selected and grown in team system.
This is not happening for a long time and Knicks will not be successful without this. Never…

And that's what I'm trying to promote. I know a part of us all wants to just throw it all away and say **** it! But I know another part of us all cares to see this thing get better.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Tear it down from what? Knicks are to' up from the flo up!

Isiah did a great job of log jaming every position with the worst player in the league......with long term money. Damn Isiah is a douce!

Anyway we look at it though, a move has to be made to free up a roster spot for the draft pick. Freddy jones will be gone but damn man......coming back with just a lottery pick as the lone roster move is lame.

We could live with Jerome James & Jerad Jefferies contracts. James contract is up the season after next. Jefferies stings, but he is making 6mil which we could live with.

Randolph, Curry, Crawford are the contracts we need to move for shorter ones. Even if for way less talent. If we were to trade each player for a player or players who's contract would be off the books by 09/10 we would be in good shape.

Walsh is way more respected than Isiah Thomas. So if he does come in he might be able to make these kind of moves. Even though at the trade deadline, Isiah Thomas had some opportunities to move Curry or Randolph for expirings and backed off like a dummy.

But don't the contracts have to match up to make a trade? I say give it one more year, and then' look at those suggestions. Let us get closer to those contracts ending. We already have starbury and Rose leaving after next year. So why get rid of contracts now, knowing we'll be on a losing record next also anyway. Why waste the money if you don't have to or if we do, why not let them play for it at least one more year. We're not gonna have instant playoff team next year. We have a foundation that we can work with now, so let's focus on that first and let the bigs burn out a little more.

As a matter of fact, lets wait two more years and go for the gold. Be ready to move enough contract to open up cap for the prize, LeBron Jaems. Keep the money into what we have now, pick up two cheaper players after next year, to fill the 15 man and keep on with this process until we get a shot at the Prize. Why not? Now is the time for dolan and company to prove that they are commited to the near future. This is it.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Geez louis rice and peas its a boring ass sunday......

Foundation has to begin with by fire with Isiah being deleted. If Walsh is here fine........the next major thing is to hire a coach right away before the draft. This is so everyone is on the right page......I don't like Nate McMillan, but the Knicks need to pick up a young dude like him. A better example would be the coach in Toronto. Stick with them at allow them to build a culture and a style of play. Then slowly give that coach what he needs to sucseed. Everyone has to be on the same page.........then a decision has to be made on who stays and if they stay, make them keys in the rotation. Slowly the Knicks have to find a way to drop players. Trade and waive. Its gotta be done smart......just like portland and toronto did. We are talking 2 maybe 3 years before we really start to win, but the excitement and build up the next 2-3 years will be sweet. Slowly we'll see the team solidifying.......us true fans would enjoy watching it change for the better than actually watching them compete for a playoff spot.

Its coming man, but we are in transition. The correct choices have to be made and the course has to be firm.

I'm ready!

I like the first half of your suggestion, but the second half, I think we should take that slow. We're not playoff bound for at least another year. So let the money ride, rather than waste it. Stay away from trades at this point, because I don't see us getting any real quality back with these vets.

But the main focus should be to set it all up to get the prize, LeBron. Why re-invest junk for possible more junk and tie up the money again and miss the opportunity in a few more years? We have a chance to finally do something here. It's all aligned and set up, if managment can see it is possible and go for it.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Speaking of trades, there's this report over on Hoopshype saying that there are reports that the Knicks are interested in T.J. Ford?

They say there's talk coming out of New York of that Raptors taking either Balkman, Jeffries or Crawford for him?

I really don't want to make any trades like this. I know getting rid of Balkman or Jeffries might sound good to you, but we'll only be picking up another head case. Plus, if we traded Crawford for him, that position wouldn't be any better. As a matter of fact, Ford is only 6' and right there' we'd only be getting smaller, because Crawford is 6'-5" and a much better scorer. Say no to this move.

I'll never trust this' team again.

Though I wish we could do it. I wasn't talking about trading all 3 for expiring contracts that end next season. I was talking about trading for contracts that end in the 09/10 season since that seems more realistic. Contracts one yr shorter than Randolph, Curry & Crawfords contracts are(10/11).

There is no problem waiting another season to do so. Though it would be better to at least unload one of the 3 this offseason. As long as by 09/10 season Randolph, Curry, Crawford are all replaced by shorter contracts that end in 09/10. If we were to do so, by the 10/11 season Jeffries would be in the final yr and the only other players we would have under contract would be the players we resigned, drafted, and the players Walsh signs as free agents.
