So now we're trusting the words of Vecsey?

LOL....

The most entertaining thing in this Walsh episode is watching fans hang their hats and emotions on every new article.

Walsh to NEW YORK: Fan Reaction "WHOOO! ISIAH IS GONE!!!"

Next article: Indy denies Walsh to NY: Fan Reaction "MAN I TOLD YAS ISIAH IS COMING BACK DOLAN SUCKS!!! BOOOO!!!"

New article: Walsh will keep Isiah: Fan Reaction "WOW THIS STINKS WTF!!!"

heh....seriously...stop getting suckered in by the media. Aside from knowing that the Knicks spoke to Walsh? The rest is writer opinion and speculation NOT FACT of any kind.

So now...Walsh worked for free for years? LMFAO I don't think so. Why'd he hold a press conference announcing he would finish out his contract in Indy then step down at the end of the year?

Vecsey is a retard...leave it at that and move on.

Just gotta wait until late April, fellas, before you can begin to trust anything you hear, unless in the meantime Dolan decides to speak up on all of this - which he probably won't until something is OFFICIAL.

Stop torturing yourselves lol.

Donnie's contract has been expired. He was supposed to be retiring/leaving so they never bothered to sign him to a new deal.

Pete may be absolutely crazy, weird and ridiculous any other time, but there are two things you can always count on him for:

1) He knows the Pacers

2) He was there. And by there, I mean no one in the NY media (outside of the Times) writes about NY basketball the way Pete does because they weren't there. Vecsey knows EVERYONE who ever came up through NY basketball. It's just that he's a lazy, bitter ****er who hates almost everyone in the league and media and takes out personal vendettas in his writing. But he knows his NY basketball history because he was there.

His son Joe is the same way - a bitter bastard who's more comfortable being the only white guy in the room, gym or park, hates everyone and has a severe problem with authority. But he's so bitter that it's comical.

The Vecseys are very close to the Pacers. Joe is good friends with Tinsley and grew up hanging around/running behind Mark and Troy Jackson. Pete and Donnie have been close for YEARS, going back to Donnie's Fordham days.

Vecsey 's a hustler. Don't pay his rambling articles any mind. He knows he's made a living off of being a character of himself. When he was writing straight up, no one read his ****. That's why he writes for the Post of all papers.

back in the late 80's I would scour the Internet for his reprinted stuff ... some lug would always retype into a bulletin board. It was gold back then.

Damn, you had the internet in the 80's?

DOS?

Just because he didn't have a contract doesn't mean he didn't get paid. It only means he was never bound to continue working for the Pacers and the Pacers were not bound to continue employing him. In other words, he was an "at-will" employee of the Pacers. He could quit, or the Pacers could fire him, at any time, without penalty.

I am old school dude. Back then 1 image from the alba thread took 5 minutes to render, but it was worth it.

BBS' were awesome. I still miss them actually. I ran one for years off of a 360K floppy and a 300 baud modem. When I upgraded to 1200 baud and added a 720K external drive oh man there was someone on it 24/7. As soon as 1 kid hung up another would immediately call in.

haha, I don't get why more people don't understand this. 99% of people in America work and don't have contracts.

Vecsey attends quite a few Pacer games/yr I believe the franchise is a part of his life due to the ABA ties. When he was talking yesterday he told Rick Kamla he wouldn't speculate on anything because he didn't know too much of anything. He sounded like someone who has a great media relationship with Walsh and maybe planting the seeds to be the mouthpiece of Walsh if winds up here in the NYC. He mainly bashed the Indy Star and the Indianapolis media on the situation in particular the mentioning of an 8hr meeting Walsh had with the Simon brothers. He said this story was so ludicrous because Mr. Simon has such poor health, he'd never be tied up in negotiations that long.
