Walsh is no fool, he'll want nothing to do with Isiah. He's leaving the Pacers to side skirt the power struggle with Bird, why would he want to undertake one with Isiah? Why would he want to begin his term using a coach the team and fanbase doesn't respect?

Isiah is so done.

WOW! What the hell!

There is no way that Isiah is staying around. Not a chance. This is why Walsh left Indiana, he was tired of sharing the GM duties. Isiah is friggen done!!!!

i see the team bringing in some ny guys to start the healing process. walsh is respected. i would almost guarantee ewing will be on the staff next season. is mark jackson the next head coach? walsh likes to give new guys a shot at the position (isiah, bird, carlisle).

Walsh is respected by the entire league. The entire league disrespects Isiah. It wont end well...I hope.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Yeah if you read I SAY UGH'S comments you'd think he'd say something along the lines of "I'm looking forward to working with my former Boss again." he's been telling us all along he plans to be here next yr as if it's a done deal. It's the very reason he's piled on the past few weeks with Uber Crap coaching. He's probably known for a while he's a goner.

Hopefully this is the first step towards Isihas removal. Honestly, none of us thought Dolan would would have the heart/brains to finally dismiss Isiahs BS and realize he needed to get a real basketball guy in here to make decisions. Buy hiring Walsh that shows he's paying attention.

If you remeber, Dolan has said that removing Isiah from the front office would almost mean starting over because we would be bringing in a new philosphy etc. Well, he's finally taken that first step. A step we never thought we would see. Now, hopefully, he'll take that next step and get Walsh to do his dirty work for him and get Isiah out of here.

On the contrary, some of us have considered it inconceivable Isiah would be here next year.

Does anyone think Walsh will hire Carlisle? Something tells me Walsh didn't care for Bird's firing of him.

This is so great. I can't remember the last time I was so happy about the Knicks. Oh yeah, it was when they hired Larry

Walsh left Indiana because he wanted more power. He isn't gonna share power with another guy again. He will be the GM...I hope.

As long as Mark Jackson is assistant, I think thats a good scenario. I wouldn't mind him as coach either.

Frank Isola was just on ESPNews and made a good point. How could Donnie Walsh announce that Isiah Thomas will be retained at his first press conference? That would not go over very well and would be a horrible way for him to start his new career off in NY.

Nothing Isiah has done, whether coaching or GM, would warrant him staying here. He hasn't earned that right at all.
