The guy's been playing hurt all season to no avail. They're clearly not making it into the postseason, why not shut him down so he comes back healthy next season?

They just shut him down for the year. Riles is smartly tanking and taking no chances with Wade's health.

Wade is hurt and with no Wade and no Shaq, Miami is basically a CBA team. Marion is not a go-to scorer. He is more of a ditry work, opportunistic scorer. They are not quite as bad as their record, but they are not the championship team they were 2 years ago.
