There's nothing more to it...some guys actually want to be part of change instead of running from a tough situation. Morris is probably one of the most intelligent young guys in the league.
Have you followed the Knicks all decade? We suck and that NEVER CHANGES.

Hadn't noticed. Just like I hadn't noticed the Knicks went through the same damn thing throughout most of the 80's.
They had four consecutive sub .500 seasons in the 80s. That's about the norm for most teams that are well run and are legitimately rebuilding. You have a few bad seasons, get some outstanding young players, and turn things around. In contrast, this year will be their seventh straight with no end in sight. That's not the norm for a well-run legitimately rebuilding franchise. That's the norm for a dysfunctional franchise that has no clue how to turn things around.

I don't get it.. what's the big deal about him wanting to stay here? I think Sportsfan said it perfectly, I always hear announcers saying this is one of the smartest guys in the league so really whats the problem, it's not like he has issues. The guy has been working hard and maybe he likes playing in this city so why should he go somewhere else if he thinks the Knicks will resign him and he wants to be here?

Let me put it this way: What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy it? What if your boss forced you to stay on the sidelines not doing your job (but did still pay you) for your first full year? Would you return next year?

I'm a psych professor and I really enjoy my job. If my college was willing to keep paying me but said I couldn't do any teaching or research and had to stay away from all students (just like Morris has to stay away from the basketball court during games), I'd find another school to work at. If the school was letting terrible professors teach students while I had to stay home, I'd be even angrier.

Dude so what? If he wants to stay and prove to people he should be playing more and should have been playing earlier then what is the big deal? Maybe he doesn't want to move, who knows. Why should anyone have a problem with it? You're not him and neither am I, we have no reason to wonder why he wants to stay, we should be happy he wants to since he looks like he can be a pretty decent big in this league.

i don't see why young players wanting to stay in NY should be a negative thing... maybe he's confident in the fact that he'll be seeing more minutes next season, who the hell knows?

What does it tell you if a guy is happy enough with sitting on the bench that he'd return to the situation? Either that he doesn't care about actually playing or that he's just using this to make other teams think they have to outbid the Knicks.

Or maybe he just likes the area...

Or maybe he wants to be here when the Knicks finally turn this around. He has been very sarcastic in his comments about playing time. He's not in Jeromes James catagory. The kid wants to make a name and get paid. He has much to prove.

What did sinatra say?

Yeah, and he might have enough confidence to believe that he can win out the starting spot. The fact of the matter is even if he went somewhere else he would not start next year and the writing is on the wall that Curry's days may be numbered. Morris is probably only a career backup, but he looks like he could be a solid backup with spot starter duty.
