In 1985 everyone was on drugs, alcoholics, or rehabing off some type of substance abuse back then. In other words you can get away with rigging back then....there are too many smart, dumb mofos out there that would give up their lives just to get fame or money......

The NBA wouldn't be able to recover from a scandle like rigging the draft.

I'm not sure how they'd rig it since a representative from each team is there at all stages. I'm sure the reps are gonna ask to see the winning ball and make sure there isn't a magnet or something in it that's obvious.

I know that if the Knicks do win it, all hell will break loose with fans, "experts", scribes, and everyone in between. Somehow people still havent gotten over the Knicks winning it in '85 even though we've seen teams with varying degrees of mathematical odds get the #1 spot (even the Magic in '93 when they just missed the playoffs). I'm bracing myself, for NY envy/hate.

I think you're right but the response to give is that we've been in the lottery all freakin' decade and we haven't moved up ahead of our projected spot even once.
