Do I understand basketball? Yes. Do you? Because clearly you don't.
Curry was far from *dominating*. That is a complete joke. Any 6'11, 300 lb center who gets 7 rebounds (career high) and half a block per game while starting and playing heavy minutes is a disgrace to the NBA. I don't care what you say. I'd rather my center rebound and play some defense like Chandler rather than charge into people for offensive fouls, not pass out of double teams, play like a pansy, and look morbidly obese.
Eddy Curry never had a work ethic and never will. Zach Randolph isn't to blame for that. Zach Randolph is his own person and player and he may have had a little to do with Curry's production but that doesn't give Curry an excuse to gain even more weight and play even more lazy. The guy is one the biggest busts in NBA history. A man his size and he plays like Mugsy Bogues.Hell, Bogues could out rebound this fat pathetic whale.
Playoff team? Where are you right now, Gilligan's Island? You must have been that Isisah follower that believed every word he said and probably thought that "injuries killed us last year" and it hindered us from showing our greatness. Yep, Isiah ruined it all by trading for Zach. Zach ruined everything man. He made Isiah bench Marbury and Marbury go AWOL, he made Jamal Crawford chuck shots, he made Randolph Morris and Chandler sit on the bench and he also destroyed the championship aspirations this team once had. Balkman, in all his glory, can only score off garbage buckets and plays decent defense. Lee already has developed with his jumper. Zach must have killed that too. Zach is the root of all evil.
Of course, the obese un-motivated career underachiever who plays center for this Knicks and really should be the Knicks mascot as the Pillsbury Doughboy never gets any blame. e's cool. He's a superstar. You'll see. He'll come back and *dominate* everyone with 19 and 7 and lead us to 33 wins. Eddy Curry is a man-beast!
I'd bet if you asked David Lee if the Zach Randolph trade was good for the Knicks he would say no.
A C *does not* have to get 12 rebounds as a requirement. Eddy avegared 19.5 points on 12.5 SPG last year. There was no doubt in my mind that his numbers could've gone up to 24-8 this year with a good offseason and no Zach Randolph trade. Guys like Balkman haven't developed a hair after showing solid intial assets. David Lee cannot seem to get 35 minutes per game on a consistent basis. The only players he's let go were the guards and that was by default. I think I'm as clear leveled fan as they come--when they sck I say it--and they do sck right now. I think Isiah had a very fair chance and has failed. He only has one person to blame--himself. The Knicks were going to win 40-42 games until Jamal went down last year. We had a core and we couldve built on that but the guy decided to destroy the landscape. If his creation ever had a chance--he surely fcked it up himself. If I was running the Knicks I certainly wouldn't throw Eddy Curry under the bus--release him--give me an expiring contract===I would do whatever I could to get Eddy back to his 2006 level--in better shape. I would want to be pro-active with what I have here and make decisions when I am NOT in a position of weakness. Except for the draft and possibly the ending contracts[or a combination of them together] the NUMBER one priority this offseason has to be getting Eddy Curry down 15 pounds and getting rid of Zach.
Briggs, I feel you and neither am I going to insult you these crazy "curry lover" or "Isiah lover" comments. I understand what youare trying to say here, and it does have merit because last year, like it or not, curry was productive and until jamal went down, the knicks were on their way to 40-42 wins.. but I want to ask you this... Before you put any more faith in curry, shouldn't you at least demand that the guy comes into camp in shape? I mean that should be job#1.. everything else is meaningless if he is not in shape.. and honestly, I don't think he has the focus and discipline to do so.. He just doesn't, so again, where does all of this Hope for a curry revival come from?
