How can you answer this? Are we trading Lee and a #3 for the #1, or are we trading Lee and a #7 for the #1?

That's a big difference.

As of right now we have the 4th worst record in the NBA. Let's say Lee and a pick between 3-6.

5-7th......hell ****in yeah!

Knicks still have Zach, so the Knicks lose nothing. Beasley will bring the crazy dunks and rebounds.....and probably 20pts per or close to it right away.

That's a monster Idea. I think Miami would make that trade if they had the #1 and the Knicks had 5-7. They could start Lee, Marion, haslem, wade, and easily sign a vet to play point or draft bayless or both.

Good idea.........but*

I'm the biggest David Lee fan here, well maybe aside from King, but this is a trade you have to make. I'll take Derrick Rose gladly with that pick.

Ah don't worry fellas....Isiah will certainly trade David Lee and our pick - for a lower pick such as the Wizards or Kings or Blazers or Pacers - along with long desired talents of Miles, Artest, Arenass, OKneel - and we'll also get some mediocre bench depth on long term deals!

Why?

'cause that's what Isiah Thomas does best. Trade garbage for...well...garbage on long term deals. Then our garbage goes off to help other teams rebuild while their garbage comes here and makes us even worse than we already are.

I tell yas it's a thing of beauty!

I ask you this how many guys that are first round draft picks average a double-double per game? You keep Lee and draft EG and you're better off than drafting Beasley with the number 1 pick.

Honest opinion. What about trading Lee and our pick, drafting Rose, then trading into the first round(mid) to grab another player like Thabeet or Hibbert?

What about Rose

I agree though, if someone was to tell me we can definitely get EG with our pick, then I would not make a trade. I just don't think we're going to have a shot at him.

What is with all the EG love? Undersized combo guys are like a dime a dozen, IMO. Minny has 2 of them that don't seem to be panning out as they thought they would.

At this point I want a guy that has a SET position and is excellent at that one position than a guy who is decent at 2 positions or is one of those SG in the body of a PG or PG with a SG mentality.

Trust me, Rose is the only guy I want, but I think EG is a good consolation prize. Although he's only 6'4, he's going to make a fine SG in the NBA. Have you seen EG play Joe? Although he can't make up the 2 inches guys are going to have over him, he CAN make it up with his strength, he has a very good base, almost Deron Williams like, but at the same time he's very fast. Trust me, he'll be fine in the NBA and not as a comboguard, but as a SG. He's an elite shooter.

If Miami gets the #1 pick, they're not gonna be interested in Lee. They already have Haslem and Marion, and you don't trade down from 1 to 5 just to get a third PF.

To be perfectly honest, if we could somehow get Gordon with our 1st rounder and then somehow move up to get Eric Maynor to be the PG of the future, I'd be ecstatic, that would be a hell of a backcourt.

Eric Gordon is a good player but that height severly limits the upside.

Michael Beasley> Eric Gordon+David Lee

No one will be able to guard Beasley in the NBA.

The guy is averaging 21 per game in the big ten. Can guard people is athletic, and a good passer. I am a huge Derrick Rose but we wont be in the top three.

No, I haven't seen him play-I despise college athletics. But you kind of made my point for me by comparing him to Deron. Deron is a PG. All that I hear about Eric Gordon, he reminds me of someone else....Ben Gordon. Not that either Gordon is a bad player, but I have had enough of trying to make players fit into holes we need. How about getting players we don't have to mess with to fit into roles on our team?

I don't see how this kid differs from Jamal or Nate in anything else other than physical stature.

Joe, did you actually read my post or just the name Deron Williams in it? All I did is compare his frame, as in they have a "sturdy" frame not a wiry one, like 95% of players.

1. Beasley even though I dont like his attitude.
2. Thabeet when pro players watch ESPN to watch him play I know he can play. We would have to trade Curry or Randolph but he gives us something we dont have.
3. Rose- Pure Point great body would make this team better immediately
4. Gorden- Great kid, great scorer, and knows how to play the game. Winner.
5. Bayless- Explosive athlete and Arizona can produce wing pros.

I read your post, and I understood it. And I understand what you are getting at. But the mentality and height thing aren't changing and Deron's frame is a huge advantage for him at PG while Gordon's is something that just takes him to even against the SG's in todays NBA.

It's like when Isiah said Nate would have been a lotto pick if he was 6-3 or whatever. He's not 6-3, it limits him, and he can be taken advantage of. And, as you said about his one big advantage, to me it only makes him break even at a different position instead of letting him be able to use it as an advantage.
