Those people are weak. Nobody forces them to root for the KNicks because of tradition or geography.
Are you kidding me Kam? You know how many fans are Knick fans because their dad took them to their first Knick game, or because MSG is 20min away from where they stay, or because the first game they ever watched on T.V. was a Knick game? It's not because they learned the game of basketball and then applied their likes of the game to the team that best represents those principles.
Take for instance if Seattle moves to OKC how many fans in the geographical area become Seattle Fans? What team are these fans currently supporting? Obviously it's a good thing economically/socially to support the local team. I'm not saying it's wrong to do this but I'm pointing out there really isn't a whole lot of meaning behind their support besides circumstance.
