Could work?

Isiah Thomas cannot come back, not even as a janitor.

What... don't you think Isiah can clean up a mess? Oh wait... forget it.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

^And can you come up with a reasonable way that can happen? Buyout, buyout, buyout, trade Jamal for draft picks and expiring contracts, trade Curry for expiring contracts/draft picks, unless he stays true to his word and retires b/c Isiah gets fired.

Maybe in a year and a half this roster gets changed completely, but with the way the NBA has changed, I don't see it happening before the next deadline.

Little Jimmy would be able to control Kiki. That's why he seems to be shying away from the Colangelos or the Walshes.

I agree. Kiki is my 3rd choice. Colangelo and Walsh are my top 2. I like the idea someone had earlier with Colangelo as VP, Walsh as GM. My dream here is that and Carlisle as coach.

Joe please don't take this the wrong way

People keep saying who there Top choices are which are no brainers. Everyone knows most fans want the most qualified GM to take over. As dj pointed out yesterday, we aren't in a Colangelo/Walsh or Bust situation. We need someone more qualified than I SAY UGH to take over and Kiki fits the bill. Kiki could be our 100th choice, he'd still be better than I SAY UGH. Some fans are acting as if Kiki is chop liver check out what he recently did with the Nets.

Let's be thrilled it may appear Dolan is entertaining replacing I SAY UGH and FALL BACK on the Beggers Can Be Choosy attitude.

It is Jerry Colangelo, Jerry West, Donnie Walsh or bust. They cannot bring someone mediocre like Kiki to take over the worst situation in sports history. They need someone respected, qualified and proven. Kiki would be another Isiah Thomas.

You're dead wrong. We need someone to come in here with a plan and set a foundation. Kiki is more than capable of doing so. Kiki didn't achieve ultimate success in Denver but he left them in a far better situation than when he took over the job initially. We can turn the keys over to someone more qualified yrs down the road. As of right now we want to stop the Bleeding and Stabilize, maybe someone else will have to perform the Surgery down the road. If the Nets can hire Kiki on a 6month commitment while he reaps them benefits, then we can hire someone too, who doesn't have to be here for an eternity.

exactly, but most of all, we need someone in here immediately who has some integrity, that doesn't have any sexual harrasment lawsuits lingering over his head, that doesn't play mind games with the players. Someone who is respected and has a good reputation. This for most executives and most teams should be basic. for the knicks, it would be a huge upgrade, and it has nothing to do with basketball either..

I agree. I believe this is a major reason Thorn hired Kiki. Thorn knew in Late November early December Kidd officially wanted out and he sent out feelers last yr with the thought of trading him then. Thorn could have worked the deal by himself or could of had Stefanski work it. Maybe Stefanski wasn't able to drum up any worthwhile trades or maybe could have been someone who tried to convince Thorn to stick it out as long as possible. Thorn probably reasoned he wants to make sure he gets the right deal for Kidd. Who does he look for assistance? Kiki! Like you said it probably has plenty to do with his rep around the league. The guy probably works the phones like no other and has great communication skills across the league. He could be the kind of GM who makes courtesy calls on a regular basis to teams, and gets a good feel who may or who may not be available and when.

Regardless if it's Kiki vs I SAY UGH....I Probably Shouldn't Go Here But I Will. As A Black Man I'm Going To Have To Distinguish On This One and Go With Kiki 1000 times out of 1000.

I am with you on that one. regardless of race, I just want the best person for the job. I am a huge kiki fan, was a fan when he was a player, even when he was washed up when he came to the knicks, I rooted for this guy. He is a good guy. Other GM's know that, they know he has integrity, is smart, and will make good deals.. Isiah is just known for being one of the best guards to ever play the game, that we can't deny, his playing career is one of the greatest, but as an executive all Isiah has done sucessfully is draft and to me, that makes for a great scout or assistant GM, not a GM... As a Gm, other GM's have to have a good feeling about you or they just won't deal with you fairly, they have to trust you as a person, I mean isiah has lost trust in his own organization, who the hell would trust him elsewhere. And lets be real, he railroaded his players and coaches, and the last straw was larry brown, who is well respected around the league.. Kiki as you mentioned was brought in by NJ to help with the kidd deal it seems and they ended up with a great young player in harris and picks for kidd whow wanted out.... I want to replace Isiah today!!!! time to move on, I am sick of wasting seasons, I want to at least enjoy a few good seasons before my son is off to college... Got damn!!!

it is... I mean it is the equivalent of working out at the gym for 2 hours, come home sweaty and stinking and just changing your clothes? hell you will look better on the outside, but still stink underneath.... Just remove isiah, remove his ass.. time to get this thing headed in the right direction..

I'm with you. I want Isiah here next year as GM. I want Marbs starting at the point. And a front line of Eddie, Jerome James and Zach at the three(just because he's a left hand, southpaw, switch it up so you don't know what hand he's shooting with). And then I'm hoping to bring back Steve Francis at the two and have a bench of Tim Thomas, Jalen Rose, Nate and QRich. Then I want Larry Brown coaching the bunch. Name them all captains and give them all a free truck.

I figure why half asse it. Let's go all in.

He won't have a choice if Kiki Anthraxes all of his current squad. I'd wager Kiki would have 80% of the roster purged by the break next yr if he's hired this spring.

And Isiah will do everything in his power as coach to prove that his 20% is better than Kiki's 80%. Or he'll just sabotage the whole thing to prove that getting rid of him and hiring Kiki was a mistake.

Either way, keeping Isiah in any capacity is just as bad as keeping him as GM and coach.

I want him gone too, although there's a side of me that wants him to stay under such circumstances discussed here. Next yr will be a down yr anyway but wouldn't it be ironic to see him coach under the condition he can no longer shop for his own groceries LB style. There's a side of me that wants him to suffer in every manner he put everyone else through under his authority. Whne it comes to officially firing him I want him to be in limbo/in the drak just like LB was.

Brilliant! Except, of course, the part about wanting LB back. That has to be a joke, and in very poor taste I might add.

People here don't really go to many games. I tried a poll last week and there are no season tix holders around here. Maybe one or two, and perhaps so lurkers.

So the garden fills despite sexual harrassment, loser mentality, rewarding incompetance, and no allstar players!

If your dolan, why should he care?

So don't get down on tix holders who complain cuz they are not complaining. They are going. All those 7 year old kids in Nate shirts not knowing a darn thing except daddy's gonna buy some 10 dollar Dipping dots and a foam finger!

Cmon, let's get it right Mr. Doughland! Don't do a HALF-ARSE job. If you're going to fire Assiah then do it and get a fresh start with new mgmt.

Hey Guys,

Usually when someone has been named the new G.M. during the middle of the season, that same team receives the #1 in the upcoming draft.
pritchard took over for portland last yr and got Oden
Toronto hired Coangelo and they get Bargianni for the #1 pick and i think there was another one.

The Future. GO KNICKS!
Dolan wants Isiah AND Kiki
