you are correct, the knicks are still making the 2nd most money in the league(lakers are first).

I thought the Knicks made an operating loss last year; it's just that it got swallowed up in the enormous profit of Cablevision.

Commissioner David Stern is an avid fan of former Suns owner Jerry Colangelo and brought him into clean up USA Basketball. It's no secret around the league Stern will lobby for James Dolan to bring in Colangelo this summer.

During All-Star festivities in New Orleans, Colangelo told The Post he would be interested in interviewing for the Knick job if it became open. Stern said in the Big Easy he was "optimistic" about the Knicks' fortunes for next season.

Meanwhile, Dolan appears shell-shocked. According to a source who attended the technology summit in New Orleans Saturday, Dolan was asked his feelings on the state of the Knicks as he was walking from the panel. Dolan said, according the source, "I'm not commenting on the Knicks and I'm not commenting for a long time."

They did lose $42+mil last season. Its total income, not necessarily profit i believe. Like last season, even though they lost $$, as a franchise, they still pulled in the most money($196mil).

And you would have to look at the numbers closely because sports teams with in house cable tv stations (yankees & yes, etc) can hide profits in the cable station.

I can't but help think that even Dolan is facing pressure from dad and stock holders to do something right.

I wonder if there were deals that got turned down at the deadline that either added money or simply traded one head ache for another- something like Zach for Wince Carter.

I wear three jerseys still and I wear them with pride. They are Allan Houston, Charlie Ward and Patrick Ewing. Wouldn't be caught dead in the jersey of one of the current players.
I just hope that people will like me

Nate’s jerseys look very good on toddlers.
To wear Balk’s jersey you need to have specific nose.
Lee’s jersey is not looking good on people who like to wear jerseys...

Well, the way they're carrying themselves lately, it doesn't look like the current players would either.

Stephon Marbury, Zach Randolph, Ron Artest, Eddy Curry, Ricky Davis.

I like Ron Artest but not for this current regime.

I honestly don't get the love for David Lee, Nate Robinson and Renaldo Balkman on this board.

Don't worry, you're not alone. While David Lee might be worth appreciating to watch play solid, hard basketball, he's nothing to go crazy over.

The other white meat, Nocioni, is, IMO, a considerably better player than Lee (similar hustle, better defender, good shooter) and even he comes off the bench.

Lee is the best thing Isiah's done in 4 years and I think he's a borderline starter on many, if not most, teams.

4 years and Isiah's best move was to draft a role player.
