what is the Kings getting? This deal SUCKS for them.

No way. They are shedding salary like a mother excellent move by the Kings

i guess the question then is: are they getting ENOUGH for their players outside the of the cap space. And, who are they going to sign?

You got teams like Sacratomato and Memphis shedding salary and getting beneath the cap which is all fine and good. But as Martin said, who the hell is going to sign to these two non-descript teams?

It's not about who are they going to sign, it's all about having the flexibility to build back your team. Sacramento has no shot at winning a championship on their present path and being that they are capped out, (without these trades) they have little flexibility to make moves which would put them over the top. In other words, they would be just like the Knicks, wasting their fans time while they dik around in mediocrity.

Now they will suck for 2-3 years, get lottery picks AND when they feel the team is ready, the Kings can go out and add some free agents or make a trade(s) for a player(s) that fits in with their new style. And just because they will have cap space next season, doesn't mean they have to spend it!!! That is Isiah Thomas thinking. You don't spend just because you have money, you spend because the players fit into your team.

Yeah, and I hate when fans assume that because you're under the cap, you have to spend the money. If the franchise doesn't spend the money, they accuse them of being cheap. So what usually happens is these organizations give in to these dimwits who have to have everything now, and the franchise usually ends up making a bad signing. Then these idiot fans blame the franchise for making a bad signing. This is why you need a GM who knows what the deal is, has the support of ownership, and most importantly is patient. Unfortunately in NY, we have a lot of these idiot fans which makes it difficult for our franchise to make smart decisions. We need a GM who doesn't pay any attention to the fans.

Who says they have to use their cap space *this* off-season? Also, if you have reasonably paid players (and I assume they'll be replacing overpaid with reasonably paid players), you can make trades more easily. Or you can just save money now that you plan to spend later when the right player is available.

Trading wise, they can take back more salary if the wish.

They can also sign and trade Artest and take back more salary on a they THEY want in thier favor.

Cap space is not so bad, that Ginobli guy worked out pretty good for the Spurs.

Sac can starphuch on a FA euro.

They can take Marbury and get their cap to zero.

Maybe Maloofs looking to sell team????

What would Orlando's starting lineup be? I assume Miller would start at C and Dwight at PF. Then either Rashard or Turkoglu would have to go to the bench (or one would move to SG).
