Jerry West had been at it in Memphis for some time - and well - I think we can safely say - that West did not turn around this franchise.

They went to the playoffs for the first time in their history under his tenure. I believe they made the post-season 3 times, you know 2 times more than we have since I SAY UGH'S arrival here, except he had an unlimited payroll to work with and a mandate.

As I said - you have done an admirable job. I am NOT disagreeing with your or others premise regarding the approach of sitting on the team - letting people expire and drafting. The point was - the team was bad- and most of the players are not in the NBA - and that there is not a single starter in the NBA from that team today - and at best one maybe two genuine players - who can still play at the NBA level from that roster.

From that roster only 3 players are still around - KVH (only because of the Kidd deal), Mutumbo (love him but he is 42 and polished the bench more than anything), and McDyess- only legit ex- Knick from that roster that s playing.

Like I said - hindsight - is not something -that one should feel is the key to their credibility. Arm chairing a strategy is not different from saying xyz player sucks -with out knowing how hard it is to even make a professional team-ever tried to make a small college team - jeez and thats harder than people think. People can call Jerome James -all the names they wish - but he did play with the globe trotters and two NBA teams - despite all your 'intellect' telling you he sucks- I am sure - if he played any of us - he would destroy us- regardless of how 'good' we play on week ends and stuff. The point - is - he did take a few gambles - and all f them failed - no doubt - but I still think - that despite it all - he has left more in the cupboaard then when he came here- that is all.

West - was swept in the playoff each time - but the point was not about the playoffs- or 50 wins. But that in 5 years - that team is ndergoing a total dismantling -despite a true all -star in Pau Gasol and talented players like Battier, Drew Gooden. Like I said getting to the playoffs is not - or should not be the measure of a team - getting to theconference finals for a few years running - like the old dynasties of the Bulls, Detroit, Boston, etc is the measure of how you have built your team. That way only Detroit and San Antonio in this era can be considered teams that were built and well GMd. Again- its just a perspective.

LOL this guy never ends with his stupidity. Just because James played on the Globetrotters and 2 NBA teams and can probably use his 300+ pound, 7 foot self to beat us makes him a good player and worthy signing?

James Dolan probably signed off on these signings by attempting to play them one on one and losing very quickly.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

it is easier to be critical than correct. I am not saying you don't hae a right to your opinion - but -at the same time -whether you agree or not - these are some of the best players in the world- even guys on the bench.

Jerome James sucks no if ands or butts about it.

why are shopping everything in the cupboard?

Who cares who's still around playing in the league because it would mean they are an expiring especially closely removed from I SAY UGH'S arrival.

I believe Memphis played San Antonio, PHX, and Dallas, all powerhouses and perennial contenders

So ultimately a GM should be judged on wins during the regular and post seasons. I SAY UGH is a flunkie in both regards.

He hasn't even produced a winning season and we got swept by New Jersey and it's down hill every since.

Kurt Thomas starts for Seattle and Othello still gets minutes on the Bobcats as well. and Dyess is not only playing but he is starting, getting 30 plus minutes and is near double-double numbers...so is Kurt in only 25minutes per.

It would help if you could be serious sometimes. Every post doesn't have to be a joke.

I'll keep that in mind.

What do you want him to talk about? That the Knicks stink, Isiah stinks and Dolan stinks? It's all been said. We are at a posting standstill.

I realize this but if that's the case then all posting should have came to a close a long time ago and Martin and Andrew should shut the site down until we become irrelevant again.

It's really a stale excuse as much as some of the discussions.

Wow what a way to misconstrue what I said and to take it to the very extreme. I'm saying if all we're doing is have regurgitated conversations why post here at all?

I think what I'm suggesting isn't unreal. I'm saying add some real talk to the discussion more often or from time-to-time.

Take for instance this thread which is rehashed discussion for the most part stemmed from a discussion in another thread. In the other thread I was able to provide links or sources from which I was gathering my material from, that a few people either didn't know about or had forgot. That's what I'm talking about you can still add to discussions that are at times redundant.

It's not like I aksed BJones to stop being sarcastic completely.

it's OK man, BJones is balanced by heavyweights such as iamwhatiam, who brings serious and new conversations to a new level.

Personally if it wasn't for BJones I would have killed myself by now. His levity brings some sanity to the board. There is room for everybody in my view.

And I agree 100%. Like I said I never once stated for BJones to come completely out of his frame but if that's how you understood it then whatever.
