That's what I don't understand. The dude made $14 mill his last year and he cannot pay off a 400K house. Even after taxes and paying your handlers, you would still clear roughly $7-$8 million and that is just one year. Dude let his pride get in the way of getting paid. Even after he turned down the Minny deal, he still could have made $4-$5 mil per season for a contender but he was so embarrassed about the whole situation, he just decided to retire. That is about $20 mil that he walked away from and now he is too old to try and make a comeback. It is sad.

I could make fun of Spree here, but the Knick fan in me just can't. Spree was great in NY and its sad to see him fall on hard times.

He isn't broke. He is just a negligent bitch thats all. If anything he has to much money and it shows by him blowing off payment on houses and boats and whatever. Most people like to stay on top of their payment but Spree is an example of a person who has to much money and basically just throws money at problems he creates because of negligence of payment.

That is my precise thought...If you don't have money, you will try to sell your assets to regain as much money as you can...But if you have money and you don't want those items, I can see a guy like Spree just blowing this stuff off and not make payments...As I said before, I don't think Spree lives in house that is less value than mine...
