Slavko will play the defense on the team. 7'6'' just have to hope that he doesn't play like Bradley. I think he is gonna win the NBA defensive player of the year one day.

I agree. The truth is that there is no way that any of us can know if lampe is going to play 3, 4, or 5. So many people on these boards sound so ignorant when they preach about what lampe is going to do when they have never seen him play. Hopefully lampe will play in the summer league so we can see him in action. Even then, the level of competition in the summer league is nothing like the regular season, but atleast we will have a feel for the type of play lampe will some day be.

The worst thing you can do to a young player is to supress his talent. If Lampe's game is being on the outside than so be it make it a team strength. Personally I think he can be an inside and outside player using the combination to his advantage. Smaller players get posted and taller players get posted and taken out of the defense by him being outside.

Lampe isn't 270. He will be somewhere close to that in a couple of years ... his frame looks to be able to carry the weight. His outside shot and ball handling sound ready now for the NBA... his post game and rebounding need work. I agree that you don't try make a square peg fit into a round hole... he sounds like a three on offense and a four on defense for now, getting 12 to 15 minutes a night off the bench while he learns.

Ifhe is 7-0 and around 270 now if he indeed grows another 1-1 /2 inch he could be anywhere up to 300 pounds. The only guy I know that big on the perimeter is Wang Zhi. If the kid isnt fat-which im doubting--then it is *likely* that you are loking at a 7-1 7-2 275---285 pound 5 what other position could a monster like that play?

Briggs... He's mobile, can handle the ball, shoot with range... ala the new breed. Nowitzki is a seven footer and plays the 3/4 same with Garnett.. Size doesn't always dictate what position you play.. your skill set does. Right now he sounds like a perimeter player whose body and game could project to the post. Right now it doesn't sound like he'll contribute there. But the game has developed into trying to create mismatches... right now a seven foot SF would create some mismatches.

Have you everhear of a 7-1 270 pound 3? Im sure he can learn the 5 very quickly--its not that hard-the kid speaks 6 languages i think he can pickup post moves very quickly. the whole gig is hes HUGE and in the east you would like someone that big in the block--no????? and im not going to put any boundries on this kid. my hope is that he is our starting 5 by mid way point or by next year.

Layden also said Pavel weighed 265 in his interview when the guy clearly was over 300. The NYKnicks.com has him listed at 6'11'' 240. Doesn't matter he will fill out. They say in the medical books that a man doesn't stop growing until he is 25 years old so he may get taller still.
