Bitty it isnt about Z-Bo talent. Last night we competed with three of our high paid players out. It is about playing as a team and that is why we are stuck with Zach for the next three years. A new gm make just outright cut him from the team.

They're gonna have to if they want to establish a culture of team first, winning players. I think all of these guys will have to be waived/bought out:
Marbury (or they'll wait for his contract to expire)
Zach
Eddy
Jerome
Q-Rich
Jared

None are worth using a roster spot on and you won't get anything decent for any of them in a trade.

Well I think you will be able to trade Jerome and Malik since the contracts are shorter. Steph will be waived as will Q rich. You have to trade 2 out of the three bigs to get one offensive player and one defensive player.

I wouldn't do another thing with this roster until Isiah is fired, what sense does it make.

I agree with that you need someone that will make trades or character guys and not bring back more money each time. Here is a question to be answered. Nate was late at MSG about a month ago and didnt play the whole game. Zach was late last night and was rewarded with 40 minutes. Dont you think some consistency in discipline is something this team needs.

the point is to dump that heinous contract of his... we've gone through this many times already & you still don't want to hear that as a legitimate reason... there's no one in the game that's better than Zach that you can realistically get for him in a trade who carries a worse contract because no team in the league w/that type of player will want to trade him to use in order to get Zach, so that's a moot point that's not even worth discussing... the only beneficial trade we can make right now is to get back whatever we can get w/a shorter term contract than his & move on... if we can somehow land a pick in the process, it's a bonus.

You and I will never see eye to eye when it comes to managing an NBA team. Your the one extreme and I'm the other extreme. For you its all about dollars and cents all the basketball stuff is secondary when talking about acquiring a player or getting rid of player.

Me on the other hand at the end of the day its about the game pure and simple. The entire point of drafting, signing free-agents, trading is for the sole purpose of acquiring players who can give you advantages on the court. Whether a guy brings shot-blocking, rebouding, assists, outside shooting, low post scoring, etc all of this wheeling and dealing is made to bring in guys that have these abilities.

You probably look at teams like Memphis, Minny, and say wow what great moves their GMs made b/c they trimmed off their cap and in 3 years they could be really great with all their young talent developed. I think its stupidity. Your just throwing a season most likely seasons away all in the aid of what? In hopes that there is the next Tim Duncan is out there or Shaq like talent (which more then likely isn't). Your wasting some very talented players by basically sending them out there with a bunch of scabs. Sorry but I don't think sending Al Jefferson or Rudy Gay on the floor with a bunch of half baked talent that happens to be making a million dollars is beneficial. They're throwing away even more money then they ever could on Z-Bo like contract b/c every single salary that they pay for during these "lost seasons" are goes4 down the trash hole. Its like making bunch of cars without an engine. You spend all that money making the cars but they're not operational so you just wasted all that time, effort, and money.

Now I don't have a problem with what Phoenix did when they unloaded Marbury b/c they had an immediate plan they felt like they had the right complimentary players but just needed to replace Marbury with a creating point guard. Okay no problem there b/c thats a plan but this other crap is not a plan IMO.

You know what kills me about you its like there is no room for any other thought then to trade him. You don't care that he's our arguably best or at that very least 2nd best player. You don't care that there is probably not another guy on the market who can do what he does. You don't care that under the right coach he could potentially improve with his shot selection and defense. Because at the end of the day all you care about is the length of a player's contract and how much money he's being paid. I know ideally many of you would want to see a team amassed of rookie contracts with a Lebron James thrown in but that just is not a realitic formula.

^This is why I thank God everyday that someone of you aren't NBA GMs b/c you make Isiah's horrible management style look like walk in the park. I hate Isiah but Knick fans should stay right where they are which is in front of the TV screen or in their seat but NOT ANYWHERE near an NBA front office.
When you're stealing rbs from your teammates to pad your stats, it's easy to get a lot of rbs. Zach's fat. Zach's lazy on and off the court. He puts so much energy into padding his rb stats that he has no energy to play defense.

Were you just introduced to the game of basketball last month or something or is your hate of Zach that strong that you can't bare to give even the slightest credit. Wow stealing rebounds that is truly one I have never heard before. Most basketball coaches will tell you that they want their players going after the ball aggressively and I have never heard one say "stop stealing your teammates rebounds" LMAO. Balkman, Lee, and Randolph were all out working Portland's front line on the boards for most of the game or wait we're they just stealing their rebounds?

I actually got the phrase from other posters who made that comment about Zach in game threads. I'm not creative enough to make up that comment. Don't give me more credit than due!

this is what kills me about you bitty... you have no idea whatsoever what i've stood for over the years even though we've posted together for quite some time... having my opinions misrepresented is not appreciated, i'd ask that you not generalize when you really don't know what you're talking about.

yes, it's true i don't like Zach's contract on our books, but i've also stated in the past that the way to make sense of the Zach trade in my mind is to now unload Curry & bring in a defensive minded C who can block some shots... i've also been in favor of trading for Ron Artest even at the cost of giving up Eddy Curry, who many here have labelled me as being a fan of just because i choose not to indulge in over the top hyperbole when criticizing his game... i've also been in favor of bringing guys in w/longterm contracts who i felt could have a beneficial impact on the team's overall balance... Zach did not fit under that standard, which is why i was opposed to him coming here... but as usual you completely missed the point & chose to harp on the fact that i was just hating on Zach for no good reason.

i've also stated several times in the past that i did recognize Zach as being 1 our best players talent-wise, but what's more important to me is that he didn't address any of our needs & the team has not improved at all since he's been here... i feel that D Lee could easily give u the production that Zach does, even if he's not necessarily as talented... both play absolutely zero defense so what's the difference? why pay out a max contract on a guy like Zach when we already had a guy on our roster who could grab those 10 boards a game & give you production on the offense off pure effort alone on a nightly basis? why trade for a low post player when u already had one in Curry that you supposedly wanted to build around after last season? the fact that Isiah continues to make nonsensical moves like this with zero plan or direction is what irks me about the Zach trade... i don't have any personal dislike for the guy.

you also said i don't care that under the right coach Zach could potentially improve with his shot selection and defense, another lie... when i see him improving on his shot selection & defense i will definitely acknowledge it, same as i've done w/guys like Jamal, Nate & Marbury in recent years.

if bitty was Knicks GM our team would consist of

C - Troy Murphy
PF - Zach Randolph
SF - Rashard Lewis
SG - Darius Miles
PG - Stephon Marbury

a team that's capped out to high heaven with no defensive minded players that all care about padding their offensive stats & no chance whatsoever of ever winning a championship now or in the distant future.

Umm what are you talking about? If I made a generalization that wasn't true about you then by all means tell me but the sermon is not really necessary.
yes, it's true i don't like Zach's contract on our books, but i've also stated in the past that the way to make sense of the Zach trade in my mind is to now unload Curry & bring in a defensive minded C who can block some shots..

You've said repeatedly that you want both of them gone. Is that not true? If you move Curry for a defensive minded center you don't think Lee and Randolph both couldn't average over 30 mins a night? They definetly could with foul trouble injuries etc.
i've also been in favor of trading for Ron Artest even at the cost of giving up Eddy Curry, who many here have labelled me as being a fan of just because i choose not to indulge in over the top hyperbole when criticizing his game...

I just groan when I hear that name.
i've also been in favor of bringing guys in w/longterm contracts who i felt could have a beneficial impact on the team's overall balance.

You keep claiming that yet I've never seen you actually name a real-life player other some super star like Kobe or Lebron. I could be wrong.
Zach did not fit under that standard, which is why i was opposed to him coming here... but as usual you completely missed the point & chose to harp on the fact that i was just hating on Zach for no good reason.

Answer me this what purpose does it serve arguing about the past? You keep harping on he didn't fill any need but when are you going to accept that we are past that point so continuing to revisit it serves zero purpose.
i've also stated several times in the past that i did recognize Zach as being 1 our best players talent-wise, but what's more important to me is that he didn't address any of our needs & the team has not improved at all since he's been here...

There you go again debating the past its over done with there is nothing that you nor I can do to change that. So get over it already I'm trying to work from the point of the here and now. I keep telling you that any trade Isiah makes involving Zach will just be another in the line of many long-term headaches. And you have yet to distinguish yourself from the other risky expensive moves that Isiah has been making.

The team hasn't improved for many reasons and I know many want to place the blame mostly on the Zach trade but that just isn't true. This team was headed in this direction since Isiah came here. Also keep in mind that whenever a team brings in a scorer there is always going to be an adjustment period moreso with a bad team and bad coach. Now maybe the Knicks will never be successful with Randolph on their roster but for now he's going to have to do until something better comes along.
why pay out a max contract on a guy like Zach when we already had a guy on our roster who could grab those 10 boards a game & give you production on the offense off pure effort alone on a nightly basis? why trade for a low post player when u already had one in Curry that you supposedly wanted to build around after last season? the fact that Isiah continues to make nonsensical moves like this with zero plan or direction is what irks me about the Zach trade... i don't have any personal dislike for the guy.

I don't give a shyt about Curry now let Lee and Randolph start together and just leave it the hell alone for now. If we draft a good big man then possibly go down that road of trading Zach but for now just leave it the hell alone so we don't dig ourselves into a worse hole. Do you really want to spend the next few seasons watching the likes of Bobby Simmons chuck up bricks while thinking about him earning 10 millionn dollars a year from the Knicks. Oh wait stupid question b/c his contract ends in 2080 instead of Zach's 2085.
you also said i don't care that under the right coach Zach could potentially improve with his shot selection and defense, another lie... when i see him improving on his shot selection & defense i will definitely acknowledge it, same as i've done w/guys like Jamal, Nate & Marbury in recent years.

If you think Isiah is the right coach then you and I have absolutley nothing to discuss.

Yea your totally right I've always dreamed of watching Darius and Q reunite and bringing home the Jersey boy Troy Murphy. You know I've always been a huge supporter of Marbury (please Marbury if your reading this come back). Rashard hell I think he's underpaid if I were Otis Smith the first 200 million dollar contract would have happened.

This will be nice team. Actually no coach required.
Each guy will dribble the ball and go one-on-one each fifth position.
Sweet harmony on offense and no defense... Cool to watch

bitty, there you go again completely missing the point... u asked me for clarification on what you misrepresented about me but you didn't even notice that i just pointed them out to you in the previous post... if u don't want a sermon, then don't dish it out to begin with.
You've said repeatedly that you want both of them gone. Is that not true? If you move Curry for a defensive minded center you don't think Lee and Randolph both couldn't average over 30 mins a night? They definetly could with foul trouble injuries etc.

what i've said repeatedly is that i want a defensive presence in the frontcourt... i want Curry gone because i want a defensive minded C to play alongside D Lee starting games... i don't see Zach being happy coming off the bench & for what he's making i'd much rather we address other needs at the SF or PG position to help balance out the roster... if we had a defensive shotblocking C, or if Isiah actually had a plan & had another trade to follow up the Zach acquisition in place for a guy like Artest who could help make up for the defensive deficiencies in our frontcourt, then i would have had much less of a problem having Zach on the roster... i distinctly remember going over all of this plenty of times with you when the Zach trade went down, but you conveniently decided to erase that from your memory apparently.
You keep claiming that yet I've never seen you actually name a real-life player other some super star like Kobe or Lebron. I could be wrong.

then you haven't been reading what i've been posting, cuz i for sure have mentioned plenty of guys w/longterm contracts that i wanted the Knicks to go after since i felt they would help address the team imbalance issues in the past... some guys i've mentioned over the past several years have been AK47, Ben Wallace, Matt Harpring, Brad Miller, Eddie Jones (when he was still good), K-Mart, Ron Artest, J.O., Etan Thomas, Theo Ratliff (when he was still solid), Brandon Haywood to name a few... u can choose to disagree w/them as i'm sure you will, that's your prerogative... i'm just trying to explain to you what my reasons are for not liking the Zach trade since you asked... i'm not really concerned about what you think about my opinions, just get them right at least... don't say i said this & that when it's not true... i'm pretty sure you'll respond with some catty remark about how those players all suck in comparison to your boy Zach... whatever... it's a difference of opinion... having a balanced team that clicks well on the court on both ends of the floor with players filling definite roles of need is my #1 priority.
Answer me this what purpose does it serve arguing about the past? You keep harping on he didn't fill any need but when are you going to accept that we are past that point so continuing to revisit it serves zero purpose.

wow, women really are crazy... the comment you quoted of mine was affirming to you that i recognized Zach as 1 of our best players... you said i was ignoring that fact... i understand that there's no use to complain about the past, Zach's here to stay & there's nothing we can do about it now... being realistic about our sorry ass situation is something i've come to grips with a long time ago... & when have i ever once blamed this team's downfall this season on the Zach trade? saying the trade didn't do anything to improve the team & saying the Zach trade was the reason this team sucks this season are 2 completely different things, don't u think?
I don't give a shyt about Curry now let Lee and Randolph start together and just leave it the hell alone for now. If we draft a good big man then possibly go down that road of trading Zach but for now just leave it the hell alone so we don't dig ourselves into a worse hole. Oh wait stupid question b/c his contract ends in 2080 instead of Zach's 2085.

we got no damn choice BUT to leave it alone... no freakin' GM out there wants any part of Zach's horrendous contract, at least not for any players worth going after, as i pointed out to you earlier
If you think Isiah is the right coach then you and I have absolutley nothing to discuss.

right, & that's because i actually said that i thought Isiah was the right coach for this team i guess? you're right bitty, you & I do have absolutely nothing to discuss... i prefer debating people who at least get the facts straight & don't put their own inaccurate twists on everything i say.
