I remember when the Lakers traded Shaq. I thought they would go into a tail-spin for years. They managed to be mediocre for a few years before now getting back up to that pedestal. For all the flack Kupchack has taken, he is a million times better than what we have here. Great trade for the Lakers and a solid way to unload Gasol for the rebuilding Grizzlies.

kupchak made 1 bad move - #1 + caron for kwame.

every other move he made has been very good and very under the radar. even drafting farmar and turiaf late were really good picks. the bynum pick was visionary. and now he has accumulated enough assets to get gasol.

kupchak just made top 3 executive of the year behind ainge and pritchard.

opens the door for the lakers to make ANOTHER major trade by moving lamar and some of their young players.

blueseats mentions kidd = odom + farmar?

That would be great for the lakers balance wise. Odom would be in the way as is. The problem is What the heck would NJ do with Vince, RJ and Odom. This would have to be a blockbuster mega-team deal.

i'm guessing similar to wade + caron + odom that got to the 2nd round.

farmar + vince + rj + odom + swift/williams/boone

I don't know, was Caron taking nearly as many shots as Vince or RJ? And Wade could play some point.

But that Nets team is looking like the Suns of the East. Isiah would piss his little panties.

i would try to sell vince or rj to miami for their 2 expirings in davis + jwill. then miami should trade their first round pick this year (which will be top 5) for a big man allowing them to completely re-vamp their team with wade/rj/big man and contend right away next season.

Wow, good trade for the Lake show. Memphis gets some cap relief and some late round prospects, but Lakers get a player that could really make them a championship contender this year. Man if the Lakers could somehow pull in JKidd...

Holy ****, what a trade for the Lakers. What the hell do the Grizz want with Crittenton when they already got conley????

And Lowry right?

Now's our chance...

Wow, great trade for the Lakers.

Not that bad of a trade for the Grizz, but I thought they could have gotten more.

I'm wondering what the Bulls offer was for Gasol, if they did make an offer.

Yeah man. I've wanted Lowry since he was at Nova. I was praying Isiah would draft him 2 years and he never did. Can we shoot the Grizz a 2nd rounder and Fred Jones expiring? I dunno, doesn't sound like alot.

Laker Fans have plenty of apologizing to do towards Mitch. He actually hasn't done a bad job.

Isiah overpays like that on a daily basis for players who aren't half as good as Gasol.

Caron Butler wasn't that great at the time. He exploded once he left the Lakers.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

The only thing that pisses me off is that we will have easy matchups with the Grizzlies now.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Yeah that's 2 1/2 yrs removed from Caron/Kwame trade a lot can change over that span of time.

WOW!!! Im not a Laker fan, but Im very happy for Gasol. Bynum/Gasol?? (30 pts, an almost 20 boards and 4 block shots per game). That is so good to be true. But hey, we have Zach/Eddy
I hope they destroy the Suns!!!!

Bynum/Gasol is a wonderful tandem for the Lakers' frontcourt. This gives them the perfect blend of interior toughness which provides a defensive presence and rebounding followed by Gasol's finess which provides nice shooting that can stretch the post.

Its kind of like Eddy and, nevermind...

when I proposed a three way deal involving the suns and grizzlies, people were like, why would the grizzlies want to re-route amare to NY.. My point was they wanted to cut salary so getting rid of gasol was the key.... anyway, they end up getting trash back just to cut salary, and the two picks are going to be non-lottery anyway... go figure..
Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF
