Also I bought a nice bottle of champagne yesterday. We're gonna drink it today after the Giants win- if not I'm going to forget about it crack it open and drink it myself when Isiah gets fired. Win-win baby!
hey V, why are we going to win? I think we have 0 chance.
I'm not gonna lie, we gotta play near perfect, but right now we are playing our best football of the year and the Pats are playing their worst:
1) We just stopped the no.2 and no.3 offenses in the NFL in terms of yardage (no.2 and no.4 in terms of pts) dead in their tracks and limited them to 20 pts or less.
2) The Pats struggled against a SD team that was without its 3 best players at 100% (and almost completely without Tomlinson). Brady threw a few picks- and while the ankle may not be a huge issue, when it comes to rushing the passer the Giants are best. He's gonna have to move around and I can't see him being as sharp as we was in Week 17. In Week 17 he hit 90% of his passes vs. the Blitz- that'll be tough to repeat.
3) Ahmad Bradshaw- the Giants didn't have him in Week 17 and he is a truly special weapon. When you have Jacobs beating people up for the early part of the game and can unleash his speed you have huge play potential. Just look at hte GB game- if not for that bogus holding call (which happened behind the play), Bradshaw had a massive TD. The Pats LBs are SLOW and struggle in space. If we can attack the intermediate area we can control the clock a bit and keep the ball out of their hands.
4) Randy Moss? Where has he been in the playoffs? He's been physically taken out, and the Giants have done that with 3 no.1's in successive weeks- Galloway, Owens, Driver (w/ the exception of the one catch where he got away with the chuck). If Corey Webster can beat him up a bit earlier he might dissapear late in the game. That has been his pattern in the past. If not, it'll be a long day- but you did ask me what the Giants could do to win.
5) The Giants stuff the run. Giants have had very few backs go off against them (you can point to Barber- but to some extent they sold out a bit to stop Romo passing the ball to Witten and Owens). Ryan Grant did **** after having the best 10-11 week run of any RB. The Pats depended on Maroney to win the last couple weeks against good D's, and I don't think the Giants are really gonna let him run free.
6) Eli Manning. He is always the X factor and he's on the run of his life. He's making all the right decisions. He looks like he's got all the confidence in the world right now. He played great against NE the first time. He hasn't thrown a single pick in the playoffs. It's anyone's guess as to what he brings- but his performance can have as much an impact on the game as anyone's and I think he's got the arrow pointed correctly.
