we need mardy to:
1) play defense.
2) pass the ball to the scorers (jamal,eddy,zach,nate)
3) hit the open jump shot (mardy is like bruce bowen before he developed a 3pt shot and he can)
4) rebound great as a guard.

-he will improve with time, he just need confidence and a long run in the starting lineup.
-he will make our team better maybe with not such great numbers but with "W".

He cant break down a defense and he turns the ball over other than that Mardy is exactly what we need.

His turnover rate is scary. Down the stretch last year he showed signs of breaking down the D, but that is gone right now.

yeah, in practice. He's not ready, this guy is a tad better then frank williams..By the way where is he.

Bruce Bowen is a Sf and didn't get on an NBA team consistently till he was 30!!! Check it out -- I would rather go with a 6'11" Jeffries to be the defensive specialist - even if it does take him another 2-3 years.

it doesn't matter what position he plays...he can be our no.2 on the floor.. guard the big guns..rebound ..pass..shoot wide open shots..thats it.
bowen did take his time finding his spot in the NBA but he did ..and I think we may have found one guard for our future.
In michael jordan's bulls you would find that kind of a guard next to him in the starting lineup..like ron harper.
about jeffries we can use him much more.

I agree- but as i said - a defensive specialist and a guard are -upto todays game - mutually exclusive. Rodman, Bowen and B. Wallace all played other positions other than guard- even Tayshuan- the most offensive of good defensive players- is not a guard.

So i am just saying - (yeah I KNOW I got no cred) but I have yet to see a guard who is/has/ or can be a defensive stopper. The guard position is too valuable - hence the denominations of'point' and 'shooting'.

In my opinon -which is always wrong here- one of the best defensive guards I have ever seen through out college and the pros is AI- and that doesn't mean Andre.
