I believe that long ago this is how all the name calling started. Let's not make things personal. It seems that with threads like this there are some who take it as a personal challenge. They respond as if they were called out, cuz they have taken a stance that this thread seems to be in opposition too. The thing is that no one was named. We can either choose to make a point in reference to the topic or just ignore it. The personal attacks tho are tiresome and boring. This goes for any thread be it for the team or against it.

I agree.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Its a love fest!

Look, a win streak or a return to being not so pathetic was bound to happen and you know they were coming back.

Look lovers, we were all here all along cheering them on and taking the pain! It looks bad when y'all return, but lets face it, it aint no fun to lose.

Mista, you were prepared for what was coming, just igonore it and it will go away. Talk the hoop and don't mind the rest.

Panos - what does my being pathetic hafta do with the way the Knicks are playing basketball?

Last I checked, the threads I've started are some of the most popular and compelling in UK history. If a forum is a place to invite discussion, I would offer that my work has not been in vain.

You're a spineless rabble-rouser.

Why do you care if he posts more after the Knicks are doing well? Why are you personally offended? Im willing o bet that as a whole the site gets much less traffic when the Knicks are doing poorly.

you would be wrong.

The reason I said that is because i thought i remember you guys saying that when you were featured in that blog. Am I mistaken, or didnt either you or andrew say that?

LMAO

I guess some of the fair weather fans are coming out of the closet now.

Don't mind misterearl. After the next 3 game losing streak he'll disappear again.

You are probably unaware of this, but "fair-weather fan" fan is an idiom that refers to people who "jump ship" on their team when the times are rough. It really has nothing to do with posting on an internet forum.

Surprise!

In fact, you are the exact definition of a fair-weather fan, you jumped ship and have been rooting against the team, not even hoping for them to win since Isiah showed up.

Actually, calling you a "fair-weather fan" is awfully generous of me.

I'll bet when things finally do turn around, you'll climb aboard, dry off your whiskers, pretend like you were rooting all along, and enjoy the fair weather.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

LOL "Fair Weather" literally means you stick around only when the going is good, when convenient,(Weather Is Good) and disappear when times are bad(Weather Is Bad). There are fans who stick around no matter the circumstance. Besides Earl has admitted on several occasions he doesn't watch the games.

Nice try at warping that expression into your own definition.

All I know is I haven't seen you post around here since the bottom fell out of the Knicks franchise... this really has nothing to do with fandom, but rather not manning up to past assertions on this forum-community. At the same time, this situation is ridiculous from both sides. This showdown was inevitable and both sides likely prepared for a flame war. Just drop it, sheesh.

Actually, the term you are referring to is "fair-weather friend".

This is good stuff from the guy who calls himself "Trueblue" and is the exact opposite. You love irony, don't you?

No Oohah you concentrate on the core of the expression "Fair Weather". You can be "Fair Weather" at anything.... "Fair Weather" parent, friend, fan, teammate, coach, poster etc etc etc. Band Wagon is more apropo to a "Jumping Off" Get your Post IQ up Oohah!

The problem is that while the majority of us have discussed the Knicks on a daily basis win or lose - several posters weren't around while we were getting our heads kicked in. Then when we finally hit our second good stretch of games they don't just show up and talk about how it was good the Knicks won and why they won - they instead attack those of us who feel the team isn't very good, regardless of a win streak, and that it would still be in our best interests to go in a different direction.

Then the war starts. It's funny how the select few take it personal when others don't agree with them - to the point that they become embarrassed and leave as if they've actually been shamed in real life because their opinion on the team did not pan out - only to seek revenge when if only in a small moment in time their opinion on the team seems to make sense - and they come attacking others in an attempt to vindicate themselves.

It's quite petty but that's how Knick MBs work apparently.

This sounds good and all but its all lies. Where were you attacked? The only thing that happened was Earl getting attacked.

kam, if there's anyone that deserves to be attacked, it's earl... he's the master of throwing out the sarcastic condescending innuendo & then feigning innocence when people take offense to it.

Aside from the title of this thread, which is not really an attack on anyone, where has he attacked anyone in this thread to get such a response from Cosmic? I just see Earl being attacked. Earl used to post on anopther forum with me and never had a problem with anyone. I think everyone here latches onto positive people (earl, papbear, etc..) and then try to tear them down all the time.

true cosmic, but then you have some like myself and a few others, who are here, good and bad. who only care about seeing good basketball and appreciating wins when we get them.. the problem is, those who are here rooting for loses and tanking, take cheap shots at those who like it when the knicks occasionally win and call them, us, flip floppers, accepting mediocrity, the typical BS.. I think that is where a lot of the problems start.... If you want the knicks to lose, then good, but don't piss on others who occasionally enjoy a knicks win..... And it also goes the same way. If the knicks win a few games, don't start baiting, especially when history shows that the knicks will win a few and revert back to losing...
