What did I tell people make Nate the third option. The guy is playing good. It's just too bad it took isiah so long to learn how to coach.

Can the Knicks atleast go 20-10 in their next 30 games. That would put us back in the mix of things.

If we wil play all 30 games with Miami the it is possible...

Cosmic, i'm not sure where you're getting this idea that people are putting Jamal on top of some lofty pedestal all of a sudden... it's OK to acknowledge good play once in a while... it don't mean anyone's under any illusions that Jamal has transformed into some franchise player that's gonna take us to the promise land.

yes, we all know you can't stand Jamal's game... we know you wish he were on a different team... we know that you have no faith in Jamal being a positive on this team going forward... we get it dude.

Yep and yep
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

I think Jamal starting for a whole year is the difference. I always said if he starts rather than coming off the bench Crawford numbers will be better and his game. Right now he is shooting 42% averaging 19.8 fg, almost 5 assists a game and 1 steal.

Most likely Jamal will finish with something around 21 points and maybe shooting 43% fg and 87% ft. I know many people feel that this is it for him. However I still think the kid can improve.

so do i BigC... i think he can learn to be more of an orchestrator & increase his Assists & cut down on the turnovers... i'd love to see him averaging 17 & 8 instead of the 20 & 5 he's putting up right now.

I am in aggreeance that Jamal has been quite solid and he's been one of the few bright spots this season, but some things I'd like to see him improve on.

-Obviously defense. Add some more muscle, Jamal, and focus more.

-Timing: Shot selection is A LITTLE better now. Not a lot, but it's better to the point that he's shooting at at least a respectable average. However, he also needs to learn what times he needs to shoot A LOT, b/c we get into big holes when he's kind of just floating around, letting Zach and Curry dominate the ball.

His decision making as improved a bit, so I can live what I've seen in terms of that. It seems like he's actually improving his game now though, so lets see him continue this trend.

It definitely has been a slow process with him though. I would have loved to see how he would have turned out if Larry Brown stayed.

Jamal is shooting 42% from the field- his best % of his career

Jamal is shooting 36% from 3-FG - career high

Jamal is averaging nearly 20 pts and 5 assists

Jamal is shooting 87% from FT- best of his career

42% from the field isn't a career high for crawford. niether is the 35% he's shooting from downtown. The FT % is though.

Anyway, I don't think letting Jamal go shot crazy is going to help us very much, in fact it'll probably make us worse. I do think he can be a main guy on a winning team (like a rashard lewis, not like a kobe or melo), because he seems to have the will and capacity to learn. Also he doesn't have an attitude problem which I think is a plus.

But he needs to be better defensively than what I saw today. Rondo strolled in the lane whenever he wanted to too many times, but I think Jamal can be an ok defender.

NBA player can be considered solid (I am not talking about all-star) when he can back up his offensive numbers with at least respectable defense. Jamal is one of the worst defenders at guard position in the league. So he will always be just complimentary scorer and should be used as 6th man at best.

I like Jamal infinitely more as a PG. Every player has their faults. Jamal's D is his. Now I think he can improve his D-just not under Isiah because Isiah doesn't care about fundamental basketball. Jamal was at the least an average defender under LB.

This boils down to what Isiah will make these guys do and he doesn't want to rock the boat. He just wants to let the guys do what they do best and that's it. He doesn't care if them improve if it is going to make him look bad short term.

He had his chance to let these players improve years ago. He is past that point and he needs results, which is why doesn't care. He knows he needs results.

Let me jump in on the Jamal Crawford Appreciation bandwagon. I have no stats and very little basketball knowledge to back this up. :-P But I just like seeing this skinny guy break ankles and get on a hot shooting streak. He feels like a "New York" type of player on the offensive end. One of the few joys I've had watching this team this year is seeing him do that in the swamp the other day.

But the streakiness... both him and Nate can drive you crazy with nights of poor shot selection. That's why I like Zach for consistency's sake. I think he should be the first option, with Craw/Nate as second and Curry third. Has there been much burn this season with a Nate/Craw backcourt? Any numbers freaks know if that's been particularly successful or not?

totally agree... i like Jamal so much more when he's looking to dish to open teammates & break down the D on penetration than when he's spotting up for 3 pointers... 17 & 8 from him would be so much better than what he's putting up now.
