Cos, the labels on the players are all fair game... hell, they make enough money to warrant em.

but when you try & be objective around here & then get labelled a "hatter" or "lover" depending on which way your comment tends to lean, it gets extremely annoying to say the least... Bip was talking about the same exact thing a while back & no one seemed to take him seriously but a few of us... now he hardly ever posts here... i dunno if that drove him away or if he's just busy raising his kid, but i do know that it annoyed him too... i'm sure we're not the only ones to feel this way... but whatever... i won't be making any stupid announcements if i decide to take a break from here... this board is in my blood now... i don't see myself leaving anytime soon no matter how many idiots get under my skin.

It's because it's boring as hell. The Knicks suck, and all we do is complain about it. Sometimes, you have no choice. I tried to put up simple subjects (except for the political one, sheeeesh, that was rough) and polls, but even that seemed boring. I actually looking foreward to the high draft pick but now it looks like Isiah is going to derail that one also.

If the Knicks 'really' start winning, I suspect those other posters will be back eventually.

That's another good point. I been on a couple of other boards a few years back and the fact that a few posters had like 15,000, 20,000 hits just bored the hell out of them. I think they finally got a life. Message boards are like psychotherapy (no dis Martin & Andrew), once you get through it all, its like graduating.

Wow' I remember about three years back (maybe four), the Bipster on anoth'a board talking about the night before marraige. He was nervous and couldn't sleep. Having a cold one if memory serves me well, to calm the jits. And now he's gotta kid? It's strange to follow this mans personal life, inadvertibly, and not know who he is in person. Proves Knick land is small world. And a personal one at that.

Also, if this is' the same Bip, he hated being called 'Bippity-Pippity'! I called him Pippy Long Stocking once and he told me to 'go **** yourself'!

It's funny but i've completely stopped using labels and have for a long while now. Part of the reason was the issues that came up with Bip and others. I realized how it only leads to personal arguments and a total lack of constructive conversations. When I was attacked for being positive, I was too emotional in my responses and used labels too loosely. It didn't matter tho, cuz I still get the same crap as if i've continued to use labels, despite not doing it myself this year.

I've tried to tone down my comments and keep it about the issue rather than attacking individuals. It hasn't worked because as TMS is pointing out, there are some with an agenda here. They look for opportunities to attack people for any statement that leans towards a positive take on anything and sometimes even a negative take. It's not a discussion of the topic but a personal viewpoint argument and that leads to ugliness.
